Naismith 3 year extention

Giving long extended contracts to Howard, Naismith and Barry tells us more about martinezs abilities as a manager then it does about the players abilities at this stage of their careers.

I despise him with every inch of my body. He's the Scottish Osman.
For me he is one of the worst players we have had at the club for as long as i can remember.

I never saw the lineup prior to the game and to say i was shocked seeing him in the tunnel before they walked out was an understatement. It's baffling how he starts games, it really is.

Not even 3 minutes on the clock, on the halfway line and he attempts a simple 10 yard square ball, im pressuming it was meant to be for Baines; the ball is easily intercepted and suddenly Villa are breaking. I nearly put my foot through my coffee table.

Wondering with all this potential incoming talent about to arrive at Goodison soon, where does it leave the Scottish Messi, Mr Steven John Naismith?
Couldn't get a game towards the end of the past season, even prior to all the expectant incoming guns this Summer.

Done at Everton? Squad filler?

His biggest fan @deipnosophist must be emotional right about now.

Thoughts?

Sell him. He does not have a position in our squad if we are going to play a number 10 and Barkley plas a number 8 + we will play wingers and Lukaku.

I agree. But do you think our Manager will? There at least 5 that come to mind I would get rid of this Summer.

I've no problem with him being on the bench and getting the odd game due to injuries, infuriating to watch when he starts though and keeps giving the ball away or taking the easy backwards pass option because he hasn't the skill or awareness to look up and play a more difficult forward pass that is the key in and around the box.

I would think Martinez wants to keep Naismith, but maybe he plans to change the tactics, so he may agree to sell Naisy. It seems like he is a nice guy and a decent squad player, but if any team offers us anything like 5M+, I believe we should sell him. In ideal world we should then invest that money into an actual real backup for Lukaku...
