Kev. Or Rom if Wolfsburg was actually bidding
That's one team, not a whole bunch. I don't think anyone but us were going to pay 28m for ROM. And Mirallas wasn't really well known and desirable at the time.

Oh gosh that's funny!

That's really funny!

Do you write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh!

See, they're Scottish players, and I like Scottish football!

You know, I've never heard anyone make that joke before. Hmm. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that on this forum before.

Because I like Scottish fooball right? I was talking about a Dutch player there in that situation. But he plays in Scotland

And yet you've taken that and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. God what a clever, smart man you must be, to come up with a joke like that all by yourself.

That's so fresh too. Any other Titanic jokes you want to throw at me too as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity? Because I'm right here, you know, so go ahead if you want

God you're so funny!

Calm down Mikey.

The point is you seem to think Martinez only likes one type of centreback when in fact he's been happy in the past to sign dominant imposing centrebacks instead of always going for ball players you and others constantly refer to as his preference.

Also I could less F's whether or not you like Scottish football. Why should I? None of my business to be honest.

Gary Caldwell as a prime example. Not sure if he bought him for Wigan but he certainly liked to pick that yard dog game in game out.

Andy Hunter gets a lot of Everton stuff right, it was him who wrote the article on Payet. Better source than most.
"The Everton manager has earmarked a new No10 plus a left-sided midfielder as transfer priorities for this summer and Marseille’s Payet has emerged as a potential target."

So Payet and a left sided midfielder?

If there's any substance in this, then link me up.
Otherwise zip it.

Ditto

Just pointing out Martinez doesn't has a preference for a certain type of centreback as a few of our less enlightened posters seem to think.

He's like any good manager he fills his squad with variety which enables him to have many options and gives us a better chance of winning and being less predicatable. There's a common myth perpetuated on here that Martinez has a certain "type" of player and that's clearly not to true and shows a real lack of naivety on people's behalf.

I still think Cleverley has been bought to cover the left side and to try and get balance and an understanding with Baines. More so because of Osman, Pienaar in particular being out and others not doing well enough out there. Just my opinion though, not saying as an out and out winger but someone who can tuck in but also provide the balance for Baines to find his mojo and feel confident about bombing forward. Think he might have played left side during his loan at Wigan though I'm not 100% certain on that.
