He needs to learn from his mistakes, realise you can have a plan B if things are going to plan. But mostly stop being so bloody stubborn.

I agree with everything you say in this post.I saw Martinez implement most of the things we blamed him for not doing on these very threads. We did have a plan B, a few of them in fact, over the course of the season. But we sucked in pretty much every formation we deployed, even when we won. The 3-0 against Man United, which was awesome, I didn't even feel we played all that well. Martinez puts it down to the first two games, but we set a terrible tone with the first quarter of the season, a lethargy that the players never seemed to truly shake off. But I'm willing to put that down to the exertions of the Europa and the historical pitfalls that come with being in said competition. I'm glad we kept Martinez, and I'm massively hopeful that we can press on with a few key signings. Based on what he has already said, and Martinez rarely reveals too much, I'm confident that he has identified the pressing issues we need to address. However, if we get served up the same dirge next season and we find ourselves staring at the wrong end of the table next December, I will definitely want him gone. Pretty sure it won't come to that, like.
I agree with everything you say in this post.

I agree lid
For me this is the main issue. I don't realistically think there are any managers we could get who would be an upgrade. Sack Martinez and get in...? Allardyce? Because with this board that is the calibre of manager we would be looking at getting.Appreciate that I have changed my view on this, but if the right replacement was available I would say good bye now without hesitation.
The problem though who is the "right" replacement - we have to be realistic in terms of who we might attract and would the right candidate accept the inevitable limitations of the existing Board?
If it was a replacement of similar stature to Martinez I would prefer to keep him on the basis of better the devil you know... However if an upgrade could be tempted to join us then I'd go for it.
An offer for Quique Flores would be interesting.....
Not sure why some people think next season is going to be any different to this one. Personally I reckon it will be more of the same whoever RM brings in between now and August. Anyone expecting us to revert back to 70+ points in 2015 / 2016 is going to be in for a shock as the manager is clearly not up to managing a big club (we are a big club!) despite his carefully crafted post match optimism.
The continually poor performances throughout this season are down to him as the players are at least on paper much better than an 11th place in the PL. Coupled with ridiculous post match interviews I for one, don't have any great expectancy for next season.
I think we are stuck with him until it goes horribly wrong as BK will see him as safe and not so bad that we will flirt with relegation. Consequently I have no great expectation for what we will achieve next year. Mediocre displays and mid table mediocrity are here to stay I reckon.
Prove me wrong RM!!
