Beautiful blue Sky day at Goodison, sold out the Old Lady, last game of season, big game opposition, loud + good support from Spurs fans, should have been a good day to see out the season.

But what an utterly shocking Everton performance. Martinez needs to take responsibility

Totally agree mate.

Worst performance I have seen from the Blues since the mid 1990's.

Totally devoid of shape, balance, desire and direction. Martinez showed no ability to change things from the touchline, either tactically or from an effort/spirit perspective.

Stones looked classy at times, Besic at least tried as did Distin when he came on. But to no avail.

Had Spurs decided to move out of second gear it would have been a horrific beating.

I usually find it hard to be a critic of the team I love but today they deserve every criticism thrown at them.

Totally shocking and unsatisfactory performance.

The Main Stand is burning down on Tuesday.

Worrying season over and now for next year . Need big clear out now . Distin we know is going , Alcaraz - no use , Kone - no use , mcgeady - no use , Atsu - don't know as got no real game time , Gibson - to many injuries - touch him on along with piennar as he is same .Howard - past sell by date and to many mistakes - Robles better option for me , garbutt going and nothing we can do , third choice so if it just about playing football and not money I don't blame him and wish him well. As for the rest - miralles sadly one of our better players but needs to be much more consistent and play 90 minutes more often - seems to me like he is just waiting for the bosman next year - hope not but if it is the case we should cash in now ...coleman - worse ever game for me today - maybe another with head turned !!. Stones super today and Galloway looks good . Jags will be ok after a break , mccarthy our best player and we need to get more from him next year , barry ok with 1 game a week but worried he will be even slower next year , besic another for the future - needs to hit the ground running next season .. Ozzie great pro but not much left I feel .. Barkley - no confidence and i blame that on roberto - when he has done ok this year he didn't play next game ... Can't see anyone coming in with big money after this year - if they did and we could re invest it on more players I'd take it with both hands , naisy tries hard but not quite good enough - he will be back at rangers if they win play off I think - lukaku has done ok - need to toughen up and get nastier - add some decent service and he will step up again .. Baines will be good with a rest and Oviedo hopefully will come back as well from injury - ledson and browning I think will be good enough to step up next year ... Clear as day we need to rebuild and make some clever signings during the summer - we really need the board to make some money available - the final piece of the jigsaw is Roberto - for me to stubborn - not hearing what is being said in stands about likes of mcgeady , Kone , Alcaraz and clearly not seeing how poor they have been when playing - he is going nowhere as we can't afford to sack him but I feel he should also reflect on the season and try to look where he had gone wrong and address it for next year ... We need to get the confidence back and more importantly we need some belief back at Goodison as the atmosphere is really poor at the moment and I'd say it is affecting the players especially Barkley .. Food for though anyway and here's hoping for big improvement next year COYB

Martinez is going to be under incredible scrutiny from now until the start of the season. if he gets it wrong before a ball has been kicked I can see the toxic atmosphere within the ground developing extremely quickly and the calls for his head gaining momentum quickly too.

Minimum requirements :

Proper pre season playing decent opposition .
Players match fit for the start of the season.
Dead wood cleared where possible due to contracts ending etc
Problem areas addressed and players bought in ( within financial restraints )

I'm not a plotter, but this season has been wholly unacceptable. The reasons why have been done to death. Hopefully he has learnt from this season. Surely he must watch recordings of the games and see what we can all see ?.

I wouldn't actually give him to Christmas if next season carries on in a similar manner, the fans simply won't have it.

Liverpool nearly won the league and ripped most teams new arse hole last season does that make Rodgers a good manager?

Last season is the only 1 season Martinez's managerial career in the top half of the table. If that doesn't scare alot of evertonians I don't know what will tbh. Under this board we are literally 1/2 bad managerial appoints away from Aston Villa and the fact we are so poor with a top 6 team should send alarm bells ringing.

You didn't answer my question.

Today wasn't that important, giving Distin a place on the bench and a final farewell on the pitch showed that.
If there was something at stake I don't think Distin would have been near the squad.

Player after player have been poor all season. Howard, Coleman,Lukaku, Barkley, Barry, McCarthy , Barkley, Baines and others have been poor for some or all of the season. This doesn't make them into bad players but getting them to play to the peak of their ability is the challenge that faces RM.

Next season will be a real challenge for the manager. But there are factors in his favour. No Europa Cup, the notorious second season is finished.
We still have possibly the strongest group of young players in the premiership and Galloway is now firmly in that group.
I think that next season will be the real test of RM rather than the season just gone.

Atsu on the bench. Wtf. ?

And even worse.....he stayed sat there on the bench.

We had Mirallas on from the start and we had McGeady and Atsu on the bench.

We were behind from early on yet finished the game with not one wide man on the pitch.

I have never felt so disenchanted and indifferent toward an Everton manager at the usually demob happy last game of the season as I did today.

After reading some of your comments and observations I am guessing you are about 11years old.MOYES achieved almost identical stats as van gael in the first half of the season without spending anywhere near as much money. he also had the difficult task of getting shot of some of the has been's at UTD. As for when he left he did nothing wrong, it was his job to improve UTD. if that meant buying EFC player's, that's life

Mate I'm 44 and been supporting the club since 83/84. To say 'The Chosen One' was anything less than an abject failure at United is bollocks. That side won the league the previous year running away. Van Gaal has them in the Champions League.

We'll have a good idea by the end of September, fingers crossed but don't hold your breath.

We were terrible, like we have been in the vast, vast majority of our games this season, even when we've won.

Can't even be arsed thinking about next season. Are there any more ex-wigan rejects to sign before the transformation is complete?

One bright spot today for me.

I love the new kit.

Proper royal blue.....not that dreadful dark blue we have been playing in this season.

With white shorts and socks.

Much more like EFC in my opinion ;)
