Beer, revisited

Not splitting hairs here mate, but real ale only ever comes out of a cask, the stuff your talking about that comes out of a keg is possibly what's known as " Craft Beer ". This is kind of a mix between the two.

Many are brewed the same ways as traditional cask ales.

Tough one to answer that mate as craft still isn't accepted by the boys at Camra as being real ?.

That's true, although from some stuff i have read this is even division in Camra regarding it. Also, probably worth taking into account they are the kind of self elected beer bods and could maybe do with being shaken up a bit..

Personally, I drink cask and keg, if it tastes good i'll drink it regardless of how it comes out, whatever I fancy on the day, both have pro's and cons.

I'm totally with you on this. In the Summer I drink light golden ales or I drink lager. In the Winter I drink darker stuff. For me its a seasonal thing and even though I'm a Camra member I'll drink what I want even if it's Carling in the Summer. Just because Camra hates lager doesn't mean I won't drink it. FFS they aren't the Church !

If there is such a thing a as " the Champagne " of Lager then this is it - Warsteiner.

Also comes in bottles - super expensive on draught and there's a good reason, it's magnificent.

Wonderful stuff.

Sipping on some Dogfish head Palo santo Marron. I'm an imperial stout kind of lad. Tried world wide stout by dogfish head last weekend, 'twas pretty good. 20% abv.

Tried out more from Smuttynose, all very good. Recently had their Robust Porter and Vunderbar (Pilsner), both very nice. Also had their Finestkind IPA. Seems like everything they brew is top class.
