" For one reason or another, we haven’t been able to give him that continuity that you need "

Bobby we've had Pienaar, Mirallas, McGeady and Osman with extended weeks on the sidelines this season and all were out at the same time for weeks. Thats plenty of reasons to give him continuity i would think. Instead you played the likes of Naismith, Barkley and Lukaku out of position whilst he sat twiddling his thumbs. I'm sure Christian will read your comments and be puzzled by you saying he will be very special footballer, because there is nothing like a boost in confidence when you have 4 or 5 players on the treatment table, yet you choose the calibre of player in Steven Naismith out of position to deputise.

Good point here, although i don't think people were complaining when we play a 4-3-3 and have Lukaku out on the right do we? Playing Barkley and Naismith though on the outside never made any sense.

Hope he gets to show some of his talent elsewhere. Not the right fit but you don't get goal and player of a major international tournament without being decent. Shame. Will be lols if he absolutely bosses it somewhere else.

We really can't afford to be signing players like this that we don't use or aren't good enough. We have limited funds and wasting them on joke signings like this is poor management.

Was only a loan. Cant foresee a player taking to the league or not

....no guarantees any player will prove good value. This lad was an established international and played in the World Cup, he was also good enough for Chelsea to take a punt on him. It's always a gamble but you had to think this lad would make a difference.

How do you reliably predict whether a player will settle into a club or a league?

Iirc Atsu had been named Vitesse player of the season last year, surely worth the payment of some wages and a loan fee to see if he could replicate that form for us? Especially as we were in desperate need of a winger.

It hasn't worked out but that happens at all clubs and to all managers, Angel di Maria has been poor for United and they spent 60m on him!

Not surprised we won't see him next session. He isn't a PL quality player. Would fit in well at QPR.

Eredivisie might be where he'll prosper.Has obvious talent as shown in the ACN,but the Prem looks a step to far for him.

I know he didn't ever get a proper run in the team but I still think I saw enough to see that the lad isn't all that, too me he just looked another Magaye Gueye. He'll end up in some crap league like France.

Premier league isn't much better than French league at the minute

He's played 110 minutes of Premier League football in total.

Christ
I must have blinked and missed it..........But seriously the time he's had on the pitch he's looked a bit lost, and given that's all he's had while we've had injuries to wide players seems the coaching staff haven't seen anything that gives them confidence.
