Kyle Naughton

Don't know if this was already posted, but comes from an Everton fan posting at Sheffield United's Footy mad forum. Seems like a far fetched construction to me.

walker has signed for spurs but sheff wont confirm deal or release his registration till naughtons future is concluded

naughton has point blank refused to sign and has told spurs he wont move south.

everton are his choice but wont raise the offer to 8m that spurs agreed to pay as they have a signed agreement of 4.5m everton have offerd to raise it to 5.5 but sheff wont.

the fa are now involved and everton are believed to be playing the legal hard ball as the agreement is binding.

spurs and everton are now working together to resolve the saga one option is spurs sending naughton loan to everton and sell him to everton in 12 months time but sheff have thrown a hissy fit as spurs have said walker wont be returning on loan if this is how deals concluded

Yes, this is tedious. I would say, that if spurs had "won" the race to sign him, i'd expect him to be paraded outside WHL by now. Take that aside, I read in the Yorkshire Post (no, I just read it online) that Everton had indeed matched spurs bid.

Nobody really knows. There are less leaks on this story than you'd expect in the CIA.

Did you know that Naughton has a facebook page? wonder if we could en masse ask to become his mates? Would show that we want him. Just devise a common message, send it too him and see what happens.

Just a thought.

I don't believe for a minute that this guy had an actual source, but it's possible he may have made up the truth.

One very plausible reason for this dragging out for a couple of weeks is that Everton believe that their accepted offer is legally binding, and Sheff are trying to get out of it. Both sides take legal advice, hence the delay.

The other possibility is that Naughton is taking a week to think about the biggest decision of his life. You can't blame him at all for that, if that was the case.

If you look at the SU boards, most (ITK:lol:) are saying that he doesn't want to move south, and would prefer to go to everton(y)

A few years ago at work, this guy (who was always talking bull) told us that he'd heard a rumour about an office romance between a girl we knew and a guy on another floor. He couldn't remember where he had heard it, but he swore it was true. We didn't believe him until a guy from that floor said he'd heard the same rumour, though he couldn't remember where from either. So at that point we thought it was probably true.

A few hours later, the first guy remembered where he'd heard it from: the second guy. The second guy made up so much rubbish that he'd actually lost track in his own head what was true and what he made up, and when he heard confirmation from someone else he assumed it was true.

I have a feeling something very similar is going on here.

Like i said before. We had an agreement with Utd for Naughton, that agreement is a binding contract. Utd can not then change their minds and demand more money. Legally we have them by the balls on this one.

So to summerise the rumours now.....

Because we had a fee agreed with Sheff Utd and were waiting for Naughton to agree personally....Sheff Utd cant ask for more coin from us.

Spurs jumped in and wanted Naughton and Kyle Walker for £11million with Walker going back on loan. Sheff Utd, Walker, and Spurs are all happy with that.

The only one not happy is Kyle Naughton who wants to move to Everton.

Spurs offer is for a package deal. No Naughton, no £11million for Sheff Utd and no Kyle Walker back on loan. Walker could end up at Spurs for £4mill or so.

So overall, everyone wants to pursuade Naughton to go Spurs so Sheff Utd can get the best deal. Everton dont have to do [Poor language removed] because a fee was agreed and the lad wants to come here.

Sheff Utd can do only 2 things. 1 is to not sell Walker and tell Spurs to do one and sell Naughton to us. 2 agree fees for both players and sell Walker to Spurs and Naughton to Everton for about £9million (estimate).

So unless there's a loop hole that Sheff Utd can pull the plug on all the deals, or Naughton changes his mind for Spurs...we could still have him.

Ballache or what! Someone ****ed up royally. And the more you read (rumour wise) its all down to Sheff Utd for agreeing stuff without the players intentions.

IF all this is true? I wouldnt be worried about him going to Spurs. Both he and Everton have them by the balls. Unless they want to go to court over it, they will have to accept our original offer.

Spurs - Is it professional or personal with Hutton?

If you scroll down to the bottom of this article about Alan Hutton, a Spurs fan says that both Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker were at 'Spurs Lodge' today, I presume to finalise deals?

However further up the comments a Spurs fan suggests Ashley Young is on the verge of signing for them...

I hate to add fuel to the annoying speculation but just keeping people posted on any 'developments'.

Both of them have been at Spurs Lodge for the past 5 days apparantly......

No one know nothing apart from the clubs.
