We have improved, but we're still capable of much more. Would love to see us kick on now for the remainder of the season and see if we can get ourselves into a position where there has only been a minor drop in league position.
I posted this: https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/how-close-can-we-get-to-50-points-this-season.74192/ last week mate.

I reckoned at the time we could get near 50 points from what we have left. We have 24 left to fight for now and 34 on the board.

With one game per week to prepare for now and this two week break coming up, and 5 of the 8 we have left being at home, we can get an average of two points per game and finish 11th.

Don't underestimate todays win. The circumstances could not have been much worse.

A disastrous night in Kiev, followed by a long flight home and then a trip to London to play a team fighting for their premiership survival.
I thought that after QPR equalised they would go on to win the game but the players dug out a result which tells me they have heart and are still playing for the manager.

And how pleased was Lennon to get his goal? Could get lambasted for this, but I honestly think we've been playing with a lot of character since Stoke. What happened in Kiev (and it was an absolute embarrassment) was more a matter of incompetence than spirit. Reminded me of the Chelsea game at Goodison. Don't get me wrong: we're crap at the moment, but I'm beginning to be less convinced that Bobby has lost the dressing room, etc. Which might bode well for him as he tries to build for next season. And let's face it, he is going to be here next season, so we may as well wish him success, right?

I see 9 to 11 points for us. A deep breath of fresh air. 11th place is possible. Let's lick our wounds and keep positive for next year. Center half is a must for this summer and a darned good one at that. I think by now Martinez has to know our weak points and has to address these immediately.

Thought it was a massive win today, irrespective of how we played. We are possibly safe already - our goal difference means we are effectively 10 points above the bottom 3 and 9 above Sunderland. We should at least be able to play with less fear - from both the team and the fans. It's a real opportunity for both Martinez and the players to show what they can do and roll into the summer break with a bit more positivity.

I agree with this - but it really must mean that Alcaraz, Barry and probably Kone should never be seen again and Distin should get a bit of a sendoff.
