Yes mate, see you in the Park End.
See you in heaven mate!![]()
I think it has a bit of mileage left, tbh.Have to say that the phrase "plotters" is becoming as tedious as "happy clappers" from a couple of years ago
Twilight in a time sense (gradual decline).hahaha but why "in the twilight" ???
Only beakheads and wools want Martinez out.
A poll was created but locked by the mods.
Now mate, i am trying to work out which category I fall into. I know, it is the one where I want Everton to win not just Europa games but in the league and stop this hideous passing game at the back which essentially is crud football. The number of wins, goals scored, games lost, points on table, all demonstrate the managers football style is not working and no sign of any attempt to turn it round.
So wanting the best for our club puts me where?
That puts you in the 'Give Martinez a Chance' category.
Peter Reid summed it up nicely on itv. He said because we play it into feet defenders are happy to sit off and let us have the ball in front of them. The most annoying thing for me is all this passing. I think passing from the back is great, but when we get to their box, just whip a cross in. I can't count the number of times we've had the ball at their box for it to be passed back to our centre backs. What is the point? To keep possession? To make sure the other team don't have the ball?
The thing is in the game against Dynamo last night we passed it back to our centre backs and they hoofed the ball back up and it went to the opposition. So why not just cross the ball into the box and either loose the ball (which happened anyway) or create a chance.

Last night we finally started to mix it up and playing balls in behind and over the top which made the defenders face their own goal and move their defensive line deeper. That then gives you the room to play it around and exploit the space they leave in front.
Our problem is we've done the same thing all season, its always into feet with Lukaku linking up. We can't do that all the time, its too easy for defenders becuase they know you're always going to drop in rather than run off them so they let you have the ball then pressure Lukaku when it's played into him.
That's the best I've seen him play all season and he was running at people, chasing the ball down the line and pulling defenders around.
There's nothing wrong with Tika taka if we aren't just doing it for the sake of keeping the ball. We have to get the ball moving forward quicker make defenders wonder what we are going to do. We are too predictable at the moment, last night was a breath of fresh air. I still think we should be playing with two wide men to link up with the full backs though.
