Hold on mate, didn't we all agree that he changed it just after Hull and went 'more direct'?
How does this fit into the "dogma needs to go" theory?
There's not a lot wrong, let's have that right. We are fractions away from getting back to the way we played last season, as the EL games underline.@davek
You loyally support the manager . Can you please explain exactly what he does that sets him apart from other managers and makes you support him.
For me ;
His organisation of this pre season was shambolic.
He shows no tactical flexibility .
We do not appear to do any work on set pieces or if we do it patently does not work.
The players do not appear to believe in his ethos of passing for the sake of it ( particularly at the back when a being caught in possession leads directly to a threat on goal )and most worryingly
The players have not developed their individual games under him ( particularly Lukaku , Barkley and Mc Carthy )
DaveK, you must walk round like a lost letter C mate given the weight of this perculiar sense of self-importance that you seem to carry 'pon your back...what is it you're not seeing/understanding that is causing concern for a lot of us?
It's simple; it's not working and he's publicly stated that he's NOT going to change it, do you accept that? Does that not pose a problem to you at all? Ergo, and by consequence of that, he is also telling EVERY manager of EVERY upcoming opposition how we're going to play on the run in, yes? Of course, I want you to be right, of course I want a result against NEWCASTLE...of course I want it to be ok...and TBH I'm not comfortable feeling the way I do about it. And I've stated - though seemingly you're not getting it mind - that it's taken a LOT for some of us to get to this point. Personally I've taken stick from friends/ex-colleagues and worse - WIGAN fans ('told ya, cocker' etc, b@stards) - over this as my support for him was initially VERY vocal. I like(d) him. But that's waned, naturally, by listening to the saaaaaaaaame excuse time after time after time. You can't address a negative by simply being positive and not actually addressing the cause...
Let me ask you a question, let's go 3 games games down the line with one point from them, if we're lucky, what's your stance then....I'm genuinely interested?
You seem to be suggesting that everything is acceptable because there are worse teams who are 'likely' to get worse results? That's a gamble, a huge one, we should be able to depend on ourselves to see us out of this, but we can't can we...
And while we're here, SLUGS mate....c'mon man, sort that eh...
Best regards & so forth...

I cant think of a game we've been blown away in, including the top sides in the division.
This is ALL easily fixable.
The alternative to sticking with Martinez is getting some divvy in who'll no doubt send us back to the dark ages football-wise.
I hope that explains.

OK, if I say look how he started off at Swansea, people will say look how Martinez started at Everton, but I just get the feeling he is who we ought to go for if, as it looks like, we won't get Bilic.
Most sustained all-comers attack I've seen on the Big Beast in a very long time
I'm not even sure the plotters were ever truly after Martinez.... looks like they were waiting in the shadows to assassinate Emperor @davek
there will be blood
