If we get 3 points against Newcastle, the relegation spot clubs wont have moved at all or by maybe a point, they have tough fixtures next weekend.

By that time the bottom three would need snookers.

I desperately hope that you are right and we stay up.

What a great season , I'm sure plenty of players will want to come and join us and play for Mr Martinez

Totally, utterly agree mate and - TBH - I've never been so torn on anything EVERTON like this before. Never. Ever...

But here lies the problem. We all have opinion, all of it (some of it, as it 'appens, is insane) earned, it's yer right. And some on here are totally pro-BOBSY and are expecting a NU result and a turnaround, yes? My issue, and indeed it will be the clubs issue, is how do you see this happening? Apologies if I repeat, kind of, something I posted the other day (I think)...it's a question/problem, and in theory it's a simple one...

A) The thing we are doing isn't working

+

B) The point blank refusal to change the thing that isn't working

= Well, we know what it equals eh, or could do...

Please, I'm not typing it like that to be patronising in any sense, I just feel it's that simple...so given that I cannot see where the confidence comes from for upcoming games (can those who support him not see/hear...he is TELLING you it isn't going to change)?

And as consequence of that I cannot see how he can continue (after the next 2 PL games) if he remains SO committed to playing the way he does...

Self-belief is brilliant, it's an impressive trait to have.

Though it's utterly calamitous when the only thing it achieves is isolating you. That's what's happening.

Genuinely I feel his intentions are good...great even. And that's the shame of it really...
Hold on mate, didn't we all agree that he changed it just after Hull and went 'more direct'?

How does this fit into the "dogma needs to go" theory?

Did you like last season? If so, could you see yourself back then saying we should get rid of 'Bobby Brown Shoes' (he the leader of "Roberto's Blue Army") just 8/9 months later because we lie 6 points from the bottom three?

An what happens if we lose and then go to QPR needing to win? Right now we need to score at least 2 goals to win a match and we don't look like we can score one.

So? I'm not saying "sack the manager if we're relegated". I'm saying, sack the manager for even getting us to the point where we are actually discussing a relegation battle with this group of players!
...do I detect goalposts being shifted here?

Then we'll be in a lot of troble. But we're not there yet are we?

Great season then with this squad.
You know the fraud has been found out and you are running round like a chicken with his head cut off.

@davek - what difference is there? Are you being obtuse?

For the benefit of the hard of thinking, senior pro's being disgruntled with his methods and tactics does not equate to the entire team playing like drains to deliberately see the man sacked.

You can be pissed off with your boss and still produce a good performance.

When you were championing your barm pot theory, it was based on excusing the man of his responsibilities, you were trying to make out that it was all the players fault, and their motive was that passing the ball was supposedly too hard and they hankered for hoofball. It was one of your more idiotic statements.

Leave out calling Blues slugs though mate. No need for that.
Woolly, I posted this soon after which you probably didn't see:

Look, leaving this Martinez/league position aside for a second, you need to stop the name-calling (me too, I suppose...although at last i make mine a more general attack in that respect and dont personalise it).

No one wants to read that.

Yeah. slug was the wrong word, I of course accept that.

There's absolutely no difference and you know it. You slated me as a loony (nice) for suggesting it was going on; now you're peddling it and you see it as a sophisticated and reasonable theory.

That's all there is to it.

Try and be a bit consistent, eh?

Some of the football last season was fantastic , some of the best I have seen at Goodison since the 80's. At other times we over played a bit.

I expected to see further progression this season. Realistically I did not expect us to break into the top 4 but I did expect a top 6 finish and a good cup run.

This season has been nothing short of disastrous but the saddest and most worrying thing is that Martinez has shown no capacity to learn or adapt , if anything this is a carbon copy of what went wrong at Wigan under him.We are so predictable , so easy to play against. I don't think that the players are plotting against him as you suggest but I do think that they have no confidence in his methods and tactics.

The littany of mistakes for a so called experienced manager beggars belief and so , very reluctantly , I have concluded that we need a change of direction.

I don't think that Kenwright will do this before the end of the season but I hope that we bring in a new manager pre season.

Have you just got back from the hair-splitting convention?

WTF difference is there in the two scenarios: "lost the dressing" / "players aren't playing for him"

In your own time....

He's just some big nobhead the lads will like. That'll do. That's what will matter at the end of the day. The lads will have a great laugh and play golf and stuff.

Get Big Dunc in, he's ****in' sound as a pound lad.

The poll: I see the sensible people have now reasserted themselves.

It's something I suppose.

Let's hope the useless tanking tvvats in blue shirts still have some pride in themselves to get a win or two soon instead of trying to get a good manager sacked so they can play ****ing pool and golf with Unsy and Duncan.

Moyes Boys love their hoofball.

Martinez tried manfully for 18 months to get them playing the Everton school of science way! unfortunately most of them are football dunces.

Let's face it, they just want to have a run up and down sand hills, a game of five of side, some weights and then the afternoon free to put a bet on, play with their xbox's and have a game of golf with their new boss Duncan.

They're almost there now. They can taste it again. Normality without that passing football rubbish getting in the way.

Messrs De Boer, Bielsa, Bilic, Laudrup, Blanc....please forward your CVs for the perusal of the Everton players committee. An A4 size accompanying letter will be allowed for you to state exactly what qualities you will bring before the committee to support your application. These may include such skills as:

'avin' a laff with the lads'
'card games in the canteen'
'xbox skills'
'golf swing tips'
'how to put a £50K yankee or canadian bet on'

Closing date: February 1st...which may or may not coincide with the end of the current transfer window.
