I honestly don't think that his departure is even being considered at board level. Like us all they will be extremely disappointed with this season and like most of us they are probably a little shocked.
But , I think they are in this for the long haul. I think his place is secure(relegation apart) and he will be given a big part of next season to show a marked improvement.

I,ll ask the question that no one seems to be asking at present - Does anybody think now that Bobby has the backing of the players and the majority of the fanbase? If he does not then I honestly don,t see how he can survive this both now or in the summer because we cannot sack the the entire squad and replace the customer base.

Is it far more pragmatic to make one change and than to risk the business damage in terms of your player assets, commercial sponsers and customer base?

Most of the Evertonians I know are still not saying that RM should be sacked. However they may be nearing that given they are very concerned at the deterioration all over...RM's tactics and the players' performances/couldn't give a sh*te workrate. They don't come on here...not the types tbh, but they know the gist of whats been said through me. There was talk of rifts amongst the players the other week on here, but that seemed to have been dispelled following the Europe performances so maybe that was just talk. How would we know. Regarding 'replacing the customer base'....that would never be necessary no matter what as no individual is bigger than the club. Your second question regarding pragmatism surely answers itself.

I wouldn't say the players aren't with him, our main problem in recent weeks has been Lukakus inability to hit the back of the net no matter how easy the chance. 8 against Leicester and 2 against both Arsenal and Stoke, 2 vs Chelsea. Completely different out look. Howard is a massive problem and he needs to drop him. I don't like Brenda but he handled his keeper amazing and look how much better he's playing now. If we go out against Kiev he's gonna face a massive Martinez out campaign

@D410 - does he still have the players on board? Questionable imo. I think there's a collective 'shrug' at his tactics at times. I think the lack of defensive drills for set pieces is a complete howler of a shout and I'm sure that rankles with experienced pro's like Distin and Jags.
PMSL at this. When I said this was a factor just after the new year I was informed by you and your mates that I must be wearing a tin foil hat.

Now it's your theory.

LOL.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

@davek - err no lad. You suggested that they were all collectively playing like drains to see him sacked, not that he might have lost some of them through his own piss poor management.

*looks at the thread's last few pages...notes the increasing desperation of the plotters.....whistles....prepares to recieve 3 safety clinching points off Newcastle and the demise of the plotters....and rests*

You think the "plotters" are going to run away and hide after one win that gets us to 31 points? Come on now, even you can't be that delusional. It's been an absolutely wretched season, regardless of what the score is against Newcastle. It's plain for everyone to see that this manager will not progress us, and we in fact appear to be regressing quite rapidly. It's possible to want Everton to win matches for the sake of the club, and also want the manager gone in the summer you know

Have you just got back from the hair-splitting convention?

WTF difference is there in the two scenarios: "lost the dressing" / "players aren't playing for him"

In your own time....

...I think I'd take a tw@t at the moment, we NEED a tw@t at the moment because the Mr Happy-Positive-Tickle shiz just isn't cutting anything is it.
Dont mind him being hard (or, in his case, thinking he's hard). Just don't like his history of playing for our club and then publicly dissing it (in Lescott saga).

If we get 3 points against Newcastle, the relegation spot clubs wont have moved at all or by maybe a point, they have tough fixtures next weekend.

By that time the bottom three would need snookers.

So? I'm not saying "sack the manager if we're relegated". I'm saying, sack the manager for even getting us to the point where we are actually discussing a relegation battle with this group of players!
