Most sustained all-comers attack I've seen on the Big Beast in a very long time

I'm not even sure the plotters were ever truly after Martinez.... looks like they were waiting in the shadows to assassinate Emperor @davek

there will be blood

it was probably the most disgusting post I've ever seen on here

well out of order

the feller is an embarrassment to himself
I'm surprised anyone even tries to debate with him, after the embarrassing nonsense he wrote about Andy Gray a few weeks back, and the moronic comments recently about Martinez we should all know by now he isn't someone that lives in the real world.

Just read Prenno's article and it is very good.

Martinez just isn't reactive to anything this season. Last season he was making changes and decision on he fly the split second something happened in a game. This season though it's like he's either afraid to make them or thinks were playing the way we did end of last season and that should work. No ifs or buts no matter who we play.

He's still untouchable. Ducking and weaving. The plotters don't know what they're dealing with here. Still the champ.

Oh and Bob...whatever, I don't know how to feel about that anymore. Continuity is good, but man, no one seems to have a damn clue how to arrest this slide.

I,ll ask the question that no one seems to be asking at present - Does anybody think now that Bobby has the backing of the players and the majority of the fanbase? If he does not then I honestly don,t see how he can survive this both now or in the summer because we cannot sack the the entire squad and replace the customer base.

Is it far more pragmatic to make one change and than to risk the business damage in terms of your player assets, commercial sponsers and customer base?

Like many managers in the modern game, Bobby is obsessed with stats.

And when any person in any walk of life and in any pursuit becomes obsessed with stats he or she becomes blinded to the objective they were trying to achieve in the first place.

All those sideways passes along the back four make the completed passes and possession stats look good.

Stats have told him that only one corner in every ten or sommat leads to a goal so there is no point practicing corner routines.

Ditto he believes a goal comes on average after about 8.42 passes so players are discouraged from having a dig unless they can see the white of the goalie's eyes.

Stats obsessives love their graphs, their pie charts and the law of averages.

This is why Bobby is in denial after every poor performance and feels we "deserved" more......because everything the statistician's laid out in the manual was in our favour.

He is baffled.

We won the possession ergo it is some anamoly in the space/time continuum which caused us to lose the game.

But.....to the stat obsessive, it is merely a matter of sticking with the programme and all will work out in the end.

Because we did nowt wrong.

:(

@D410 - does he still have the players on board? Questionable imo. I think there's a collective 'shrug' at his tactics at times. I think the lack of defensive drills for set pieces is a complete howler of a shout and I'm sure that rankles with experienced pro's like Distin and Jags.

I don't think he has the backing of the players, he is hanging them out to dry, why would they back him? He is making fools of them. As for the fans, no chance, what worries me is he might be deluded enough to think we are behind him, and even more worrying Kenwright might think we back him and have it in his mind he cant sack him because it wont be popular with the fans.
Last season we backed him for good reason, it was a breath of fresh air, this season is the reality of his football, we just cant afford to dither on him like Wigan did or we will go the same way.

Just noticed the poll up there. That's crept up a bit hasn't it? By the weekend it'll be 50-50 I reckon.

Cant wait for the post-Newcastle poll.
