I'm a half full type of person. I'm also slightly rose tinted glasses. I get disappointed when Evertonians do something wrong, I like to think we are above some of the things other clubs get up to (Chelsea, for example). That is my confession.
Therefore I am annoyed at what is being said in the "for" or "against" Roberto debate. I don't believe any Evertonians would want to see the team beaten just to prove a point. A am sure everyone who wants Martinez to stay want that because they feel he is the best man for the job. I equally believe those who feel he should be dismissed do so because they think that is what is best for Everton.
I want Martinez to succeed, I want Everton to out pass every team in the league. I want to be dazzled at the "School of Science".
Unfortunately I don't think we have the players to be able to do that. We don't have the money to buy them. It pains me greatly but there it is.
In my mind there are two types of manager, the dogmatic type who has a style of play and he moulds the team to play that way, maybe bring in their trusted players to help. Generally the "hard to beat" type. Then there are those who can make the best of the players they have and adapt a style of play to suit the team.
Martinez appears to have fully bought into the tiki taki dogma but has not got the players to pull it of. He may be highly successful with a different squad in a different league. I hope he is as he seems a perfectly nice man.
I am in the camp that feels he should move on, I understand that we won't get a top class replacement at this stage of the season. We have won 6 in 28, surely we can get someone who can get us a few wins. I'm for Royle. Dunc and Shreds.
If what we are hearing is right and the senior players are seeking a meeting then I'm afraid end is in sight.
My hope is that Roberto will resign, just say it hasn't worked for him and go out on his own terms.
As I said, glass half full of rose tinted glasses !!!!!

Agree with every word

honestly the players wreck my head more than the boss. if there was a sack the players option id go for that before sack the manager.....although no sackings at all is still my general stance

No coincidence that what I said about poor formation and shoe Horning people into position still stands 20 games. Manager needs to take responsibility for this.

Players are doing what's told of them, just lacking even more urgency due to this awful plight we are in

6 points off the drop, of course there's pressure.

He'll be given time to turn this around...I know that doesn't suit you, but....

I agree that kenwright won't sack him to me he will only leave if another defeat or fan pressure but enough is enough Everton football club come before Roberto Martinez and staying in this league.

The fact that Bradford of League 2 have beaten more premiership teams in 2015 than Everton is a good convincer for me like.

So every single Premier League manager should get the boot cos they have also scored more goals at Stamford Bridge this season than any other side?

Except Chelsea, obvs.

Is right, most of the players are shell shocked and bewildered, some show it on their faces and in their demeanour some don't, depends on their personality.

Honestly, all this "Martinez out now!" is silly and smacks of desperation. People need to get real about our options if we were to sack the manager. We can all pretend we'd get Klopp or Perriera etc, but that isn't going to happen. We'd have Duncan like a deer in headlights and we'd end up with another legend who let us down. No one is going to turn this around except Martinez and honestly the players need to step up and take responsibility.

This continues to be the single worst argument to not sack him, all any manager needs to do is get a couple of wins this season to get us safe then they have a top 6/7 squad with 3 of the best young players in the country 1 year older and more experienced.

There will be tons of coaches interested in the summer as long as we are in the Premier League

Well, I still think he's the right man for the job. I saw enough last season, and this season in the Europa to make me believe he can turn this around. Every manager, with the very odd exception, deserves time to make his mark at the club. He's had two totally different seasons at Goodison, one brilliant and one awful. He still has some credit on that basis and on the basis that he is trying to change our players into technical footballers. My biggest issue with him is the reliance on Barry and Howard even when it's very clear they are well past their best. Barry I can live with every other game but not as a permanent fixture in the team. Howard has been a total liability and has cost us points whereas good goalkeepers earn you points.
Some key players have been massive let-downs for me particularly those with World Cup hangovers - Howard, Jagielka, Barkley and Baines.....although the latter seems to have really struggled with his own injuries and that to his great sidekick Pienaar. The main let down though has been Mirallas - on his day a great player to watch, but he has so few days and is more interested in Mirallas than Everton.
Shocking season and one which is difficult to endure as an Evertonian, especially last night which for me was the worst performance of the season....nobody came out of it with any credit whatsoever. But, one swallow does not a summer make and I'm deeply planted in the 'give him time' category. I understand Blues are fed up, but sacking him won't make the individual errors go away.

Six points above the drop, massive GD advantage if it came down to it, chance to go 9 points clear of the bottom three next weekend. Teams around us all playing top five clubs except us (apart from United)....and some people wonder why Martinez is still here...and why the media aren't talking about it.

That ^^^ is all you need to know for now. PMSL at the thought of some desperately waiting for a sacking and new manager.

Kenwright is probably watching old episodes of Corry and wont be disturbed until the end of March.

What an absolute waste of everyone's efforts this is. Nothing to see here.

Let's all go over to the summer transfer thread and debate who Roberto can bring in.

The media aren't talking about it? It was virtually the only topic of conversation post match on 5 live.

Phone ins.

Not the same thing.

You know when someone in the PL is under real threat: they have massive debates on it and shows devoted to it.

It's not happening.

It will do if we dont beat Newcastle, but it's wishful thinking by the desperate at the moment.
