Fair-weather friends.

Hopeless some of these mate.

Imagine this lot being around in 94 and 98. They'd be swinging from lamposts by now and encouraging everyone else to do the same.

I was there both games. The squad now is hell of a lot different to those and the league is a lot harder so poor comparisons.

In all honesty mate I think the stability of Moyes has certainly influenced a generation of fans.

I don't remember 94 so clearly, but in 98 at times our strike force was Fergusan (injured a lot) then 3 teenagers, (cadamateri, Branch and Oster). When Fergusan was injured we had the equivalent of Long and McCaleny leading our line. We now have international forwards like Lukaku.

We were truly awful, and in honesty I have no idea how we avoided relegation over that 7 or 8 year period.

We will not go down. The only possibility is if Martinez completely loses the dressing room, in which case he'd be sacked and somebody else will come in and get the points required to stay up.

You'll stay up comfortably imo. Not based on your own performances but I just don't see us, Burnley or qpr catching you

Thanks buddy. I tend to agree. We will stay up via default. People are making a lot of Villa too, they have lost 7 of their last 8 games. If they do that again they will not catch us.

We shoudnt be relying on other teams mate with this squad. We shoudnt be in this position with this squad. Martinez takes the blame by not changing his ways and now it's taking it's toll. He's had numerous games to fix this he's not and now we are staring into the bottom. Not good enough not good enough.
Yeah I agree you shouldn't even be in the mix with the players at your disposal. You will stay up though and the summer should see a massive overhaul in your squad.

At the moment it doesn't look like you have any game plan. Just looks like RM sends the players out and hopes for the best. Even the best players need a system to play.

Good luck anyway, wouldn't like to see Everton go down. Would make it even harder for us to get promoted next season lol

If we go down and Villa stay up that will be my biggest disappointment of the season. They really are an abomination!

I remember 98 but being a youngster the financial implications were lost on me. This time, they are very much at the forefront of my mind and I know for a fact that we will become another fallen giant because the club isn't adequately prepared for the implications of going down.

Given the TV money at stake, Bill has to act now. It is not only his responsibility as a chairman, but also his responsibility as an EVERTONIAN (ha!) to act now, pay the clown his blood money and hire Royle for the last ten games.

Oh, and Martinez has quite clearly lost the dressing room. Completely.

Six of our last ten games are at home. We play one team in the top four, two in the top six..both at home.

We play four teams who are even lower than us. We're not going down, everyone relax.

Don't ever remember us being in this sort of serious position in relation to talking about relegation. Too young to tell you the ins and out of the Moyes season we finished 17th or whatever it was. This is worrying and depressing to watch happen.

We'll stay up, we have to, we're too good (talent wise) to go down but we're lacking the fight. Hypothetically we could be 17th on the last day and on the verge of going. The mere though of that is terrifying.

Least equipped? We've got the best team by a million miles in the bottom half. Everyone else has a team of Naismith's, if push came to shove we are the MOST equipped team for a fight.

Ability wise yes

But tactically, our style of play is very easy for a team of "Naismith's" to negate, especially at the pace play goes at in The Premier League

It worked last season, but teams have had a chance to see it now and have sussed it out

We scored 5 goals against Stoke last season. We haven't scored once against them this season. That tells you all you need to know

They completely nullified us. As did Hull and WBA

I've watched a lot of football over the years 70's 80's 90's 00's, Don't be so patronising. I've also seen a lot of clubs who were 'too good to go down' be relegated and not recover. Burying your head in the sand and hoping this will all work itself out are just plain naive and quite frankly embarrassing.

This squad should not be hovering 6 points above relegation. 6points that is only 2 wins, keep flying your positivity flags but some of us realise what is happening.

Put your crystal balls away those who are saying we are definitely not going down because we are most certainly in danger of being dragged into it.

Where is the evidence for this statement?

Certainly not evident last night, not evident in Europe, even against Leicester we fought back to get a point.

It's a tired cliche unless you can demonstrate first hand knowledge .....

On the same note, where is your evidence that 'we are definitely not going down'?
