Positivity 2015

Liverpool will finish 4th, we'll win the EL and get them knocked out of the CL places and they won't be able to worm their way back in this time. Revenge for 2005.

Not about his abilities as a player, just he's a complete dead loss as a captain. Twice this season we've been fined for bringing the game into disrepute, he was nowhere to be seen trying to calm the players before it became inflamed. And do you think Mirallas would have taken the ball off Baines to take a penalty under Captain pointy, I don't think so. He's not captain material and has to be part of the league form problem.

This has been gone over time and time again.

Against Brom he bent down, did his shoelace and was away with the fairies. Why? Because he's a centre half, positioned on the half way line and obviously thought it was Baines' penalty. After all, why wouldnt he? Baines IS the penalty taker. What do you want him to do once Baines has let him have it? Cause a scene? Mirrallas did score a penalty days earlier against West Ham remember, its not as if Tony Hibbert had grabbed the ball and placed it on the spot is it?

and v Chelsea? The melee? What do you want him to do, scythe every Chelsea player down with his member? Watch it again, he leathers the ball Peter Kay style out turns away and runs back to position. As he does it kicks off.

What you haven't mentioned is that before every game he goes to every single member of the team and jees them up moments before kick off. That he throws his body in front of EVERYTHING. That he has embraced a new style of play which doesnt suit his abilities yet we can all agree that his distribution has improved dramatically over the past two years. He coaches John Stones through every game and look at the rewards. Did you go on vs West Ham away? He was in the referees face at every opportunity on behalf of Baines, Stones etc who were being roughed up by that long haired gazelle up front.

It's an absolute myth that he's not vocal enough.

Nah what am I thinking, he doesn't point enough and isn't enough of a headcase. Give it McCarthy or Stones....wait?...hold on....

But I made this thread ages ago.

I'm perturbed by it all now.

If I'd posted it yesterday then you'd have a point but I was trying to remain positive earlier on in the season.

You're judging me on a post made a little bit ago, rather than currently. The situation has changed a bit since then. I find that unfair.

\sigh

Fair enough Groucho. In fact i find it worrying that you're original positivity has dissipated.

As captain he should be fully aware of what is going on on the pitch. It's not good enough that he was 'going back to position' or 'he was on the centerline because he's a centre back'. Yes I would expect him to be dragging his players out of confrontation situations and trying to calm it down.
He's a good centre back he's a piss poor captain.
Please note this is my opinion based on my observations.

Exactly.

If I'd have posted it yesterday then commit me to the asylum now, but this was the end of last year.

I can't see into the future.

Jesus Christ I'm having to defend myself for being positive in December.

I think what that lack of positivity stems from is people having a peek into a 'possible' future, one they think has a decent chance of being true-ish. This possible future is based on past performance and a present lack of change or likely short term future change in any of those circumstances that caused those past results you are basing your future expectations on.

short version: Taxi !

edit; I like to think Sir Humphrey Appleby would be quite pleased with that answer

It is extremely hard to be positive. We have good players, we spent 28 million on a striker and things have nose dived. I don't know if anyone else felt that the Arsenal result was not so much a disappointment as it was inevitable.
I don't believe that we will get anything of Stoke, they are the type of team we can't beat. They will defend like mad and hoof long balls up front. They will also kick lumps off us.

Positivity is not part of what we are, we are born negative and we worry from they day we are born

As supporters we can find the littlest of things to worry about, complain about

Maybe the thread should of been called - levels of negativity

As not sure we can do this positive thing
