A top ten finish is unlikely. I'd take 14th right now with my pride in tact. Arsenal wasn't great yesterday, but they done what they had to to win the game. Mirallas didn't look interested yesterday. Lennon and Lukaku had two good chances and were unlucky. We just didn't have enough about us, so last season we would've changed the game and took the game to them with going more up top. Garbutt one side, Coleman the other. Lukaku, Mirallas and Barkley through the centre. We would've pounded their penalty area, we don't play that well anymore. The manager seems more keen to keep it tight at the back. Which isn't a bad thing but we never hit forward in numbers yesterday. Lukaku needs support up there.

No mate. He's a lone voice in the media. You know it and I know it too. No one is seriously questioning Martinez out there.

Three points in the next game or two and you'll all be scurrying off again...as you always do when we get a win.
Martinez has been found out and you know it.
When he gets his next job at blackpool I assume you will start supporting them.
There will be pie charts all over the blackpool forums.
As for league wins mate I can't remember how I feel its been so long

You go missing when we have a decent result. You just dont post after one.

That's pretty poor. Why do you do that?

Aside from the hairline and the background. Would you think he was talking about an Everton game this season? Haha

I cracked up at 'we need to be ourselves'

I post on here quite a bit and have no pattern but glad your checking me out .
We have won 2 games in the last 15 so it seems like I am on here more when we lose.
You make things up to suit your own agenda so I take a lot of what you say with a pinch of salt.
Talking about patterns you seem to enjoy us losing so you can back Martinez even more.
The way you slate the players, board, fans and ex players to blindly follow Martinez is not what I would expect from an evertonian

I am not comfortable with it either, but it is a results driven industry isn't it? The stakes have never been higher due to the new TV deal on the table and we cannot afford to be languishing in the bottom half of the table and looking at a potential relegation scrap.

He is massively under achieving with a very decent squad, so what is it you don't get? Why do you not understand why some people are thinking he is going the wrong way?

We are used to finishing around the top 7, this is bound to cause reaction amongst fans.

Maybe I reacted little bit too strongly my self...everyone are entitled to their opinions.

Im not jumping into that wagon, though...
I'll keep backing him because I think he's brilliant manager and he will turn the tide.

Its about time questions were asked

Shameful really that the Echo who are generally happy to see Everton firmly underneath Liverpool floundering in mid table re asking questions publicly before the fans or board are. Any club in the current top ten would have fired their manager by now. Look at Swansea with Laudrup, brutal. Stoke with Pulis. Liverpool with Hodgson and then even Dalglish. Spurs with a whole host, same as Chelsea. Southampton didn't think twice about Adkins. Yet good old little sentimental Everton will support their manager all the way whilst he relegates them and all the Everton fans will do is shout at those booing because they're ruining the match for them.

It's amazing that a manager who is endlessly positive isn't able to pass some of that on to the players. They look beat before they hit the pitch in the majority of the games we've played this season.

I'm worried if we end up fully in the relegation fight that we don't have the fighting spirit to get us out of it. With the exception of Naismith, Besic and occasionally Jags, there just doesn't appear to be that guille and steel that would be necessary to take on the fight.

If Martinez was sacked now and we replaced him with someone who had us 14th at Christmas would people want him sacked too? And then if the next guy had us finishing next season in 16th would he be out as well? Continuity is the key. I really can't get my head around this instant gratification way of thinking. I hate to burst people's bubbles but there's going to be a transition period for every new manager.

So it’s now 50-50, couple of months ago it was 20-80

I guess the rest of the no voters will change their minds when they realize being a football manager has nothing to do with a good look and good choice of clothing and most importantly, when they realize it’s easy to talk nice and appear like someone who knows what he is talking about while in fact he is just BSing (check his conferences when he was at Wigan, same phenomenal BS)

Unless he wins Europa league (which he won’t) he should be sacked at the end of the season

"Police orders meant that the trains from Euston to Lime Street on Sunday night were declared “dry” - no alcohol allowed. They won't have been happy places to be.

Because if Everton's players can't enjoy their football, and if their manager can't find a way to make them, then spare a thought for their supporters."

To add insult to injury, the supporters couldn't even drown their sorrows on the way home(n)

I'm actually backing Martinez to stay but you can't say it's an instant gratification if fans want him sacked. 2 wins in twenty, piss poor performances all season, embarrassing press conferences, I could go on and on. I'm backing the manager ( christ knows why but I still think he's got something about him and if we can get through this far too long rough patch that we will come out of it all the better for it ) but I totally understand why there's a 50 50 split and we should respect both sides of the argument.
