Tim Howard

and there's games in the past he's saved us points. No ones trying to argue that he's been some top top keeper like Cech or anything like that. you talk about "americans" rewriting his history while you're using this season to argue that he's been awful his whole prem career.
Agree with del, average, at best.

He's supposed to save us some points, that's his job. All bog standard goalkeepers save 'some' points. Where he should be excelling is in not costing us points/games. That bit is down to him. He has always been a liability.

Its a game your lot no very little about, Thinking Howard is a good keeper speaks volumes
He was a good keeper for a while. He's poor atm. You keeping acting like he's been gash his whole career which isn't true in the slightest. Also what people call the game is irrelevant. Also "soccer" was a term made up by British people in the first place.

That made me angry too. He doesn't seem to take the game seriously for me.

This might just be me as well but sometimes when I watch him I feel like he's focused on trying to "look" spectacular rather than just focusing fully on what he's meant to be doing. He seems like he tries to make the basics look extravagant sometimes. I feel like I'm not making sense there but I know what I mean.

He's just an absolute joke these days. If he starts against Arsenal I'll be fuming.
I understand fully what you mean. He always has to make a meal out of a routine save, trying to make the average look spectacular. Instead he makes himself look a bit of a tit.

Howard has never really been loved at Goodison, if we're honest.

He's a fine keeper and a lot of clubs would have taken to their heart but we grew up with Neville Southall and Howard ain't no Neville Southall.

Like eating a mcdonalds burger after 2 decades of Wagyu steak.
exactly.

This is a really fair point, though I didn't have the privilege of watching Southall play.

This, tbh. A Nev shows up about how often? Thought so.

In my lifetime Southall is obviously the greatest there ever was and we have been starved of good keepers since he left us, Martyn is the obvious stand out and Howard is obviously third.

The thing with Howard is he has been inconsistent so has never had a period of time to be 'loved' at Goodison. I have always been a fan of him however as he is a decent keeper and genuinely loves the club but this season and especially yesterday he has been awful and it is time to end his stint here. I honestly believe that we would have won if Robles was in goal.
