But here's the rub,

He has to keep his place.

He himself was put under increased pressure by being brought back with no justification.

If he is dropped then the situation is reversed and Joel will suddenly find himself under pressure as he will be perceived as number one.

Martinez should have left well enough alone and let Joel grow into the position and evolve into number one if his fine performances continued, without this added pressure.

Our goalkeeping situation is now in crisis and the manager is to blame.

Very good point, well made... Hope BK reads it !!

Probably right mate, but still I'd bring in Robles. We already witnessed that he's a confidence player. Improved with every game he played for us. Also, at least Robles has time on his side and a mistake could be down to his inexperience. From a veteran like Howard we should be expecting more. In all honesty, he's just stealing a living now.

we all know howard will make these mistakes for another 2 months then just after we get knocked out of europe because of howard, martinez will have had enough and finally drop him. robles' confidence will be back down to zero and he'll look crud again like he first did and then we'll have two gash keepers that nobody else will want ha

fair play mate, that's very brave of you to let us do that to your national league... but it is crap anyway. can see it now, gerrard's only goals will be against howard next season.

I have no horse in the MLS race besides its ability to produce USMNT talent. They've written my city off. Given the quality, if I can't go the game I don't really care.

Is right.

By coming out with that crap about Howard being automatic first pick when fit, he not only shot Joel in the head, he also removed any genuine feeling of competition from the hapless over the hill Howard.

It was an awful managerial decision and an even worse managerial statement

I remember a lot of fans mentioning that we'll have to wait and see how Tim does with our best centre back partnership in front of him. Well despite having our best CB pairing in front of him, this fraud has managed to be at fault for EVERY goal we've conceded in the games he's been back. The sooner Robles comes back in the better.

Forza Joel Robles.

“Tim Howard is one of our leaders, one of the most solid performers,” Martinez said. “What he brings as a goalkeeper is his understanding with other players, what he has achieved in the game, and when he is fully fit, he is a very strong performer."

Almost to a word the drivel I said he'd come out with in the piss-take thread. :D

Please say you've made up that quote?
