Roberto got my hopes up last year with Gerard. He set the bar high netting him and his subsequent comments regarding top clubs wanting everton to take their youngsters on loan. So what happened this season then? Either we didn't get our targets, or Roberto.was being a bit economical with the truth. To sign Barry on a 3 year contract at the time seemed absurd, unfortunately we have been proved right. We even have a better young midfielder on our books (Besic) but for some reason Barry gets the nod over him each time. Our transfer business is just another frustration to add to this wretched season.

Incredible behaviour.

But he bought Besic?

Some of the smartest people I've met are Americans. But, to be fair, I've also met some who I'd classify as not the sharpest tool in the shed. In short, I don't think smartness/dumbness is geographically predisposed.
Don't know about that...still searching high and low for an intelligent Kiwi

Roberto Martinez will resign on Thursday 5th March after we suffer 5 straight defeats in our next 5 games. Vault me.

I don't share your optimism, but you're right, the next five games present a difficult run and will be a real test of Roberto's management skills.

Fans are excited about the trip to Bern but, in my eyes, the most important game is against Leicester. If we lose that one, it will make things very difficult for Roberto and the team. So I'm expecting two or three players to be rested tonight, and hoping for a result that we will keep us in the tie. I hope the squad will return in good shape ready to face Leicester on Sunday.

We can then plan for the home leg against Young Boys. I'm willing to rest more players for the trip to Arsenal so that we can turn out a team capable of taking a point - or more - from Stoke. Stoke got a lucky win at Goodison, but their fortunes seem to have changed. They will be without Bojan and Muniesa, and several players are under treatment for injury.
