Nope, I was alive and kicking during those periods, and this season has been worse. Our football is certainly more negative and boring that's for sure, and we have the same amount of points as we did during the 1993/94 season at this stage. That's how far we have regressed under Martinez, and that's with him having a far better squad at his disposal.

If you honestly think this is worse than the dark days of those managers listed you're a lost cause talking about football or either on a wind up. Smith playing defenders on the wings and up front was tragic, Kendal a shadow of his former self with turgid footballers was embarrassing and as for the Walker era the least said the better about the likes of Brett Angel and the like.

This season has clearly dipped well below the standard regard or the dizzy heights of last season but we've seen good exciting football periodically, like Arsenal, Wolfsburg, Lille, Burnley or QPR and we're clearly heading back in the right direction. It's a hell of a statement saying this is the worst football you've seen for 30 odd years and is such an over exaggeration that you've lost any credability in this thread in my eyes by stooping so low to try and prove a point.

Lock me up then Boss_Blue

Well coaching experience is coaching experience. No-one said managing experience. I remember Dalglish doing quite well with no managing experience to our detriment.

The dissident numbers have been coming down consistently over the past few weeks. Understandably so given the corner being turned. Just a quarter now reckon it's the manager's fault concerning who's to blame for the poor season (represented visually below).

Anyone wanting Andy Gray in as manager to replace Martinez should be locked away for a very long time.

Utter insanity.
I'm not wanting that. I don't even want Martinez replaced. I just always thought he spoke sense plus everyone in the studio defers to him including all the managers.

But then again I guess it's irrelevant because I don't think tactics or football knowledge is what necessarily makes a good manager. It's like any job. A good manager could manage a team of builders, software developers, footballers etc. It's all about the team morale and man management. That's what makes a good manager and that's very hard to judge from afar.

Bobby seemed to be a savant in that area last season. Coming into an experienced dressing room and not only getting them to play a completely different style and keeping the great morale Moyes had but adding new players that seemingly didn't disrupt the whole thing.

This season he just appears to be an idiot in that area.

Your right there Advertus. But the reality is who knows how good Andy Gray would be. He could be brilliant or completely awful. But to be labelled insane for mentioning him as a candidate as a manager of Everton is what gets my back up. Opinions are opinions. No-one is right nor wrong. But some on this site have arrogance beyond belief. Might swerve these forums!

I could say anyone wanting Martinez to stay after this appalling season is bonkers. But I respect people opinions. Seems others don't on this site.

I think its more that Martinez is only into his second full season, his first full season we played some great football, finished 5th, and he gave us our recored prem points total, I just don't think anyone is bonkers wanting to give the man some time.
