Why? Because we were more exciting than Stoke under Moyes but less exciting than Stoke under Martinez?

Martinez is far more negative than Moyes, and the football I have witnessed this season has been the worst for 30 years, and yes, I include the early and late 90's in that.

We're you in a coma during the Walker/Kendal II/Kendal III/Smith years?

I hope you've made a full recovery.

I personally think Martinez is on the right lines with his possession theory. All good sides play out from the back for instance. The issue is tempo and players being more instinctive. Plus confidence of course. Also though I love Naismith you simply can't have players like him if your trying to play a continental possession based brand of football.

Nope, I was alive and kicking during those periods, and this season has been worse. Our football is certainly more negative and boring that's for sure, and we have the same amount of points as we did during the 1993/94 season at this stage. That's how far we have regressed under Martinez, and that's with him having a far better squad at his disposal.

Amazed he isnt managing Spain and Barcelona then.
What experience did Guardiola have before he took over at Barca? One year managing the B team.

Gray is a smart guy and a dominant character however his biggest weakness is that he might be too soft given that he always struck me as wanting to be one of the boys.

Lock me up then Boss_Blue as I'd rather Andy Gray than Martinez. I think Andy Gray gets slated because he apparently turned the job down in the 90's though it wasn't as simple as that. And his stupid comment about women officials is still used against him. Then again the people who criticize never make any mistakes no doubts!

Experience isn't the be all and end all to being a manager. Andy Gray has coaching experience at Villa anyway.
Bonkers.
