OK, so the question was inferred. It still remains; if I state my opinion on certain things, such as that I feel all organized religion has been a blight on mankind with countless atrocities perpetrated in their names over the centuries and that it's currently Islam's turn at bat, is that OK?

I just hope this doesn't mean it's open season on right-wing thinking. I know Nik's views were extreme, but some on here agreed with him to a degree.

I hope not myself. There are some very interesting, informative debates on here that approach topics from varying angles. The General Election thread is a good example. The place would be pretty boring without diversity IMO. There's right wing views though and then there's Nik, who I don't doubt is probably a nice guy to talk to on a personal level in person, but who just became a caricature of himself. You knew exactly what he would write before he wrote it when certain topics were being discussed. I'm all for freedom of speech and defend his right to hold any views that he wants but not to constantly spew hate filled bileous nonsense on order to push his anti-Islamic agenda.
