Roberto Martinez discussion

Atsu and McGeady are both Martinez signings.

Pienaar and McCarthy have not been treated medically well enough, an indictment of the back room staff.

Mirallas was allowed to take that penalty as there wasn't enough leadership shown to get him to pipe down.

Distin and / or Jagielka should have been replaced; certainly not by Alcaraz.

The midfield - surely the setup and progression of play is dictated to them by the manager? Especially if they are still doing it in a run that goes 5 wins in 23.

As I've said; full credit to him for last season, and full blame to him this. The problem with the downswing is that it could, worse case scenario, have serious connotations for the club.

you can try and twist it however you want.

The players have to take responsibility.

Distin coming out with his surprise on boxing day.

He should of been shown the door there and then.

Not twisting it at all.

You say blame the players solely, but under that logic you could also give 100% of the credit to them for last season.

And I fully agree about Distin; but why hasn't he been shown the door? Isn't that indecisive leadership? Pay off his last 6 months for the sake of squad morale?

well thats a nice way to put pressure on yourself, this and the tranfer quote if you are to believe him,
he needs a couple of big results and soon or he is in trouble, a few in would help to get a bit of limelight off him,

Ask Atsu. Ask Mcgeady. Ask Pienaar why he's been injured. Ask Mirallas why he's taken penalties he shouldnt of.

Ask Distin why he's been gash.

Ask Jagielka why he's not been consistent.

Ask the midfield why they're not looking to pass forward enough. Getting caught and giving it away too much.

The players go on the pitch. They play the game

Why have a manager then? Aside of any pro or anti Martinez 'agenda', you cannot actually think that any manager of a football club bears no responsibility for what happens on the pitch.

You're also deliberately not taking into account Martinez

Does NOT have an infinite budget

He's got money not infinite money.
you want him to change 10 players at once.

When he's got to do it stepwise.

He spent last summer less than half Waffle Rodgers.

Yet some in here act like he's spent £150million

the plotters like to portray it as 100% responsibility.

When in fact the manager doesn't kick the ball !

No I'd just would like to know how anyone could justify the current run of results, like 5 in 23. That's all, it's directed at the world in general really
Why do you want it justified? We are where we are....two seasons into a managers tenure that you said you'd give him four years to bring to fruition.

Why are you saying different now?

To be fair Damo, I've not suggested he does have an infinite budget, nor that he change 10 players at once. He should have got rid of Distin if he has become an issue.

One might also argue that having £32m to spend in the summer is a fairly decent whack.

My core argument here is that if you credit him with last season (fair) you have to criticise him for the current run - and 5 wins in 23 games would be barely defensible for Leicester or QPR, let alone a big club like ours.

But what has brought us to this point? Is it the boss? Is it the players?

Do you think that he shouldn't have to justify 5 wins in 23 games as a rate of return?

Should we honour his contract if he chooses to stay? Yes. We should even do it for Distin, unless we can prove a breach. Should he do the right thing and resign? I'd say yes. My personal feeling is that he probably will go either way if we lose the next two.

To be honest, there's just a lack of accountability at the club at the moment. £13m for income revenue outside of the TV rights deal? How has Elstone got away with that?

It all comes from the very top - Kenwright, Elstone, Martinez, Jagielka. People in key leadership positions not doing their job

Why would he resign? We're 12th and the feller in charge of this club isn't about to put pressure on him to "resign".

Honestly mate, I know your struggling here to justify you're own 180 degree about turn regarding sticking by Martinez for 4 seasons, but you and the other plotters sound like your on crack. The manager is safe as houses, and so he should be after last season and the fact were in 12th place with 8 sh1t teams below us.

Why are you ignoring the content of my posts and continuing with the same line?

Should be really use the "8 **** teams below us" as a barometer for acceptability?

Is 5 wins in 23 games an acceptable rate of return ?

Ewww, I just read the thread about Martinez and real fans. I am going to read some good Retarded internet fights. Will I join in? Hopefully not. I'll beging at 454 and read my way up. Cup of tea in hand.

If anyone was under any illusion that the notion of plotters at work was farcical before tonight's embarrassing antics and the misrepresentation of the manager I think they'll be cured of that now.

New posters turning up to put the out of context story together and the usual dissidents diving right in behind it.

Three points against palace and they'll scuttle back under their rocks again.
