Roberto Martinez discussion

To be fair mate 75% of supporters didnt want Roberto at the start but we all wanted to be proved wrong and certainly were not looking for an excuse to say I told you so we are Evertonians we want to win ever game ( except City at home last season) bit if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and sounds like a duck it must be a duck.

Exactly.

1 win in 6 surrounded by average results - fair enough, not great, can be explained as a blip.

1 win in 13 and 5 in 23 suggests major systemic issues

What's causing them not to perform?

If we credit Martinez with the good times, surely we also blame him for the bad?

Ask Atsu. Ask Mcgeady. Ask Pienaar why he's been injured. Ask Mirallas why he's taken penalties he shouldnt of.

Ask Distin why he's been gash.

Ask Jagielka why he's not been consistent.

Ask the midfield why they're not looking to pass forward enough. Getting caught and giving it away too much.

The players go on the pitch. They play the game

Martinez has really put his foot in it. #ProperEvertonians is trending nation-wide now. Alienating the fanbase even worse when unity is needed more than ever.

The plotters retweeting like their lives depend on it

Proper Evertonians them.

Using the words "proper" to describe (some) Evertonians and "real" as Neville did is about as divisive a comment as you are going to get and is igniting a powder keg. He must have known exactly what he was saying when he came out with that. Not. Good. At. All.

I'm still more concerned though that he thinks we have been playing well and not getting the results we deserve. Just no, Roberto.

It's very silly people starting a rubbish trend about it but to be honest those comments have really annoyed like they have loads of others. 5 wins in 23, playing some absolute dire football, half the players look not arsed, one has even jumped off the ship. Yet anyone who's angry is not being a proper supporter? It's as bad as when Neville said the same thing about the Blue Union marches.

that's the big concern as others have said, he acts like he doesn't think there is anything wrong, which if this is the case is a massive problem

Atsu and McGeady are both Martinez signings.

Pienaar and McCarthy have not been treated medically well enough, an indictment of the back room staff.

Mirallas was allowed to take that penalty as there wasn't enough leadership shown to get him to pipe down.

Distin and / or Jagielka should have been replaced; certainly not by Alcaraz.

The midfield - surely the setup and progression of play is dictated to them by the manager? Especially if they are still doing it in a run that goes 5 wins in 23.

As I've said; full credit to him for last season, and full blame to him this. The problem with the downswing is that it could, worse case scenario, have serious connotations for the club.

Can I stick by my original word when I heard we were getting Martinez?

Also, how can he justify the results in the last 30 games or so? Legitimate question
Not really. Poor results and performances from key players. Injuries have taken a toll, the team has had their confidence sapped from them and players have been unable to do fundamentals. Ultimately at the end of the day though it is the manager who has to deal with these issues and still get performances and points on the board. It hasn't been good enough. What it comes down to is whether you think the manager is the right man to turn it around and make the changes to personnel and the team that need to be made. I think and believe he is. I can state why I believe he is if you want.

has no one used the jokers 'very poor choice of words' gif yet?
