Can't be bothered anymore

once i knew a fella who turned his back to his club...

..Zeus came down from the skies and ripped his spine out and made a divan out of it.

At the start yes, but once he'd got his squad in place we generally finished at least in the middle

I certainly didn't worry about relegation during the end of his tenure
You should have been. In 2010/11 we were in exactly the same spot in terms of games played and points won.

So if you're worried now you had to have been then too?

Anybody who either wasn't worried in 2010-11 pre jelavic and gibson or isn't worried now, is clinically insane.

Not because of relegation fears (we're not in serious danger of relegation now and we haven't been since smith was sacked) but because of how far we look from being competitive at the top.

It took new players and a dodgy win over city to give us the confidence boost we needed to turn it around and we suddenly went from looking like hopeless cloggers to sweeping teams aside by 3 or 4 goals. Hopefully we'll do something similar this time.

It's only if Martinez can't turn a corner that you worry. Like I keep saying he gets until next november. If no corner has been corned by then that's when you assume the manager isn't capable of it.

I'm still hopeful that the sea change will come this month, if I'm honest. We know that once this team clicks we're capable of racing up this table.

Agreed. Just takes one big win and we have lift off.

I'm unconcerned by it. I look at the rubbish below and I'm fairly relaxed. We need that first win for a two months though!

Damn World Cup years

It's amazing how much things have changed in 12 months, last season felt like we were on the cusp of exciting times ahead, a bit like 1984, now it's looking more like the dark days of 1994. I'm not sure I can cope with the stress of another last game of the season relegation battle, my nerves couldn't take it again. It's looking a tad iffy at present though.

Logically, next season will go like 2004 then! Where were we in 2004?

In 2004 we had a manager in his 3rd season. Our number 17 was a magnificent Midfielder with a nasty streak who who terrified the opposition joined by some Irish guy in midfield who covered ground and won the ball back. We also had some Scottish guy out on the wing who chipped in with the goals from time to time

We finished 4th. Holy shoiiteeee DE JA VU ROLL ON NEXT YEAR

What's the point of being a fan if you don't want glory?

What, I should hope we lose instead?

5th place is deemed a glorious season now by all accounts, Moyes years have apparently been viewed as glorious because he consistently got us into the top 8. What hope have we got if these are the expectation's the majority of fans have. In hindsight it was a very poor idea to start a thread like this I know it's just a moan but it does wonders for all the Negative reputations.

Someone posted we have 1 trophy in 28 years. Leicester City have more, Bolton have the same, god Middlesborough even match that. Forgive me comparing us to the teams I mentioned. Anyways I'm not bothered again.

Racist?? I think not

We could have 11 players playing for Sudan or Etheopia and say we've got a team of internationals,my point wasn't meant to be racist,if it offends you I apologise

LOL Dont apologise because he is trying to twist your words into his malicious warped narrative as some sort of racist. Anybody with 5 brain cells understands the great and legitimate point you are making that we have internationals from top footballing countries, not some obscure nation with poor football infrastructure.

I just think your being very dismissive of the teams from Africa Friend.

They are all rammed full of quality players.

Without googling

Name me one Quality player from Niger?
Name me one quality player from Chad?
Name me on quality player from Somalia?

I know your struggling... so just name me ONE PLAYER from ANY of these countries

It's Kenwright, mate.

He took over a club petrified by it's scares with relegation and went to war against expectations.

Moyes and neville telling us that top 10 and no trophies is great, people talking about martinez 'fantastic' first season where we won nothing and came 5th (but earned a bleeding mural) as having our raised our expectations too much.

And now we're arrogant entitled kopite kids for not being happy with losing every game.

It's everything about kenwright's everton and the acceptance of mediocrity that runs through this club. We're in the longest ever trophy drought in our history and we're still meant to view not getting relegated (which we have only been twice ever) as success.

I hate it.
