Was just coming in here to say Schurrle would be a good shout either on loan or to buy for about £15m

From your comment I`m guessing thats already been discussed?
 

Micah Richards as RB/CB cover? Wouldnt be overly expensive and whilst he isnt really the ball playing type of defender Stones is could be a very good squad player for us if he gets focused fully on the football and less on looking like a SMW boxer!

Pretty sure he's on over 100k. So no.

Perhaps, but if it is 0-0 at home with Leicester City and 20 mins are left, it would be nice to think that we had some options available to try to win the game.

Yes, but I think it makes sense to deal with the problem as it stands now.
1. It’s too easy to score against us.
2. Our midfield never scores.

Didn't the RS try to sign him in the summer for around £15mill? I don't know anything about him as a player but if we could get that kind of asset for free it's got to be worth doing.
 
Its not even just that one player, players with 6 months left on their contract should be ALL over our radar. There are loads of quality players coming into a free, could get them on a pre-contract then bring them in for peanuts when their parent club realize they want to get SOMETHING out of it.

Its negligent to not be going these routes methinks..
