David Marshall was excellent against us last season, but I've really not seen a lot of him. But he seems realistic.

These German chaps that are being mentioned are interesting. But I wouldn't have a clue about them. And didn't one go to Barca in the summer and be crap? Stegen or something. Not sure he's even getting a game these days. One of these kids strikes me as a risk.

So after all that the main point is that you can't do any worse than what we already have.

Genuinely think an obese fella would do a better job than Robles and Howard at the minute by virtue of simply covering more of the goal. If we fail to sign such a large fellow then my top three would be -

Zieler - Germany number 2 and still young. Saw him play live and they lost 4-0, but he couldn't have done anything about the goals, it was against Bayern. He did everything else right. £7m minimum fee release from what I understand.

Karius - On a free end of the year, young with superb reflexes. Better than Joel and Howard, be as good a replacement as any I can think of.

Marshall - Close to home option. Should be relatively cheap, and much more consistent than our two current 'stoppers'.
