Getting in behind teams is mainly the job of the attackers,so the midfielders can find them, although with confidence low, you may have a good point with them scared if losing the ball.

Don't have to be hoofball or tiki taki though, play what's in front of you and play on the oppositions weaknesses. It is a pretty simple game really.

We were doing it last year but the opposition would sit off and let us, thats easy.

Thsi year ever since Spurs other teams are just pressing us high and our players are not good enough to play out under that much pressure, hence mistakes.

Like Pythagaros in Waxworld, it's all about triangles. They need to be calm and composes as well but most importantly, players who don;t have the ball need to move into space and make a decent option for the player with the ball. Not make a slow run towards them whilst being tracked resulting in picking the ball up under a lot of pressure, thus sometimes losing it.

Watch how top teams play posession based football passing it from the back. Triangles, good movement and composure.

Its all very well wanting to play like that, but if your players cannot and half way through a season opposition managers have figured out we cant play it under pressure you simply need to change. Philosophy or no philosophy.

Get the points on the board, make the best use of the players you have and then when you can bring in your own players who can play that way : do so.
