Martinez out!
"We have to do better." "I need to make changes."
Either would be a good start.
'That wasn't the level of performance I'd expect from these players, and the level of commitment wasn't there from start to finish. The lads don't need me to tell them that's not good enough; improvements are needed all round immediately and we'll be going into the next game looking to make them.'
Not hard.
What we dont need is knee-jerking over his status. I'll tear into his decision making of late (most of the season in fact), but I'll step out of any demands we get a new manager.
Have some backbone and loyalty. Remember last season and that we're still midtable and in Europe after a very ropey first half of the season.
He'll get it right in the end. He needs to add in January and simplify his starting line up and give it shape.
I'm still 100% behind Martinez.
Me confidence in him long term isnt shook but right now im starting to question some of the things he doing
I've said since the end of last season that the CB pairing needs gutting. He needs to wade in in January and get reinforcements in...CB and out wide.Well yeah, same here, but if we're in any danger whatsoever of relegation by the end of January then he'd actually have to go, as the risk of keeping him is just too high.
I don't think we will be, and I'd usually laugh at anyone suggesting a relegation fight in December given the quality of our squad, but then again I didn't think in my wildest dreams the Southampton reserves would thrash us like this either.
How do you know that?We all are mate.
It's all relative though...relative to last season we've gone backwards. NOW we find out how good/ruthless Martinez is.
I'm going to enjoy seeing him sort this out...and he WILL.
