"We have to do better." "I need to make changes."

Either would be a good start.
'That wasn't the level of performance I'd expect from these players, and the level of commitment wasn't there from start to finish. The lads don't need me to tell them that's not good enough; improvements are needed all round immediately and we'll be going into the next game looking to make them.'

Not hard.

He won't do that, he slate the players, they're taking the piss with their utter **** performances and he hasn't got the guts to end careers that need ending, and ship out players who aren't good enough, he's not good enough, it's all bollox and I'm not happy with it, needs a mega turn around and I can't see it happening

What we dont need is knee-jerking over his status. I'll tear into his decision making of late (most of the season in fact), but I'll step out of any demands we get a new manager.

Have some backbone and loyalty. Remember last season and that we're still midtable and in Europe after a very ropey first half of the season.

He'll get it right in the end. He needs to add in January and simplify his starting line up and give it shape.

I'm still 100% behind Martinez.

Well yeah, same here, but if we're in any danger whatsoever of relegation by the end of January then he'd actually have to go, as the risk of keeping him is just too high.

I don't think we will be, and I'd usually laugh at anyone suggesting a relegation fight in December given the quality of our squad, but then again I didn't think in my wildest dreams the Southampton reserves would thrash us like this either.

I really think he needs to go, before its to late, alright Southampton are a decent side but we look awful, our attacking is the worse since before Moyes came. I don't think he has a clue how to fix it. This is how you play against Everton

1.Get your strikers to press the defenders high up the field and wait for them to fek up and score.
2.Defend in numbers so Barkley has to try and beat 3 men
3. Hit them on the counter attack
4. Get a corner.
5. Don't worry about crosses non of them can cross a ball.
6.Put the smallest man on the front post of an Everton corner as its 100% chance they hit him every corner.

The problem here is I can see abandoning these useless formations, dropping a couple of players, being a bit harsher to the players even, but I can't imagine him EVER changing the style of play. We have a team with potential to get top 4, and it simply won't be achieved until Martinez realises he sometimes needs to compromise.

Doubts are now creeping into my mind. Last season he was a breath of fresh air after 11 years of hard labour with Moyes. This season, his decisions are leaving me a little confused. Yes I know, we are all armchair managers and what the hell do we know right? After watching Everton for over 35 years I can say that even I can see mistakes in his decision making.

The problem is, football is a simple game and I think some managers try to over complicate things. If we don't win a game between now and the new year then I will be in panic mode.

I've said since the end of last season that the CB pairing needs gutting. He needs to wade in in January and get reinforcements in...CB and out wide.

still the right man, of course, people asking for his head are morons tbj. our highest points total in his debut season and a man who can attract players the calibre of eto'o to a skint everton.

he's a shadow of himself from last season though. he obviously doesn't trust the wide midfielders we have, in which case he needs to address it in january. why he's picked jagielka and distin again for this match is beyond me. switched the game after 60 mins but again i didn't see howard make a save, instead a corner that landed 6 yards out where he stayed on his line and a customary startfish jump from him. we had too many players back for that corner which restricted him from coming for the corner, not that he comes for them anyway.

soton#s game play was simple, smash the ball down the middle and wait for everton's centre backs to [Poor language removed] themselves.

we have been dull to watch since the first couple of months. he's sacrificed our brilliant attacking play from earlier on because our experienced defenders weren't doing the business. needs to drop them now, especially with alcaraz and stones back, neither of those back 2 should play tbh! jagielka has been worse than distin this season.
