When has Howard cost us points besides the Crystal Palace game?
Spurs? He saves a one on one and an unmarked player gets a rebounds.
Man U? He doesn't kick a ball out of bounds and 20 touches later it goes in after poor defending?
Liverpool? Doesn't save a free kick from one of the best in the business and any one with a brain would have known it was going in before it was taken... Same with Sunderland.

Soccer is a team game, only people who don't know what that is like point blame at individuals.

The timing is wrong. £10m was paid off the debt in late 2013 and announced by Elstone in early 2014. As for the Arteta money, it 'disappeared without trace', neither being used it seems for transfers or debt repayments.

The point I found most fascinating was that apparently we were meant to realise that both free kicks were going in before they were taken. Suppose you could've guessed with the wall's placement against Sunderland but surely it's not the keepers job to set up the wall in the right way? Jesus Christ the whole American loyalty to Howard thing is getting incredibly annoying.

Yeah I was just being dense. My point was just that there were a few transfer windows where the money just evaporated so it's a bit futile trying to pinpoint where it all went.

Every week some blowhard comes on this thread to whine about Howard's performance. If he had a good game then they will go back to some other point in time to complain about that one moment where he did whatever.
Examples abound: Sure he could have palmed that Spurs shot another foot or two wider...but maybe just maybe a defender could have stopped ball watching and did HIS job to mark a run through the box.

Now I am sure the fact Howard is American means he is somehow less of a player (as others obviously think in this thread) but maybe we should also make it about race too? Most everyone is among the 90% who are the nice welcoming fans that actually understand being an Everton supporter is like being a part of a family. Maybe you dont agree with the poster but the nationality or race or whatever isnt a part of your reasoning in why you disagree.

Point is Howard could be Dutch, French, Swedish, English or American. He's just not good enough. Where he's from is irrelevant. But constant american text sticking up for him is becoming a bit much. I'd have more respect if people just said how it was.

He was once exactly right for us. In the same way Jelavic was right for us.

in the 13/14 accounts borrowing increased by £1m, its in black and white in the accounts. Im not too concerned with what Elstone says its only the accounts that can be trusted. No figure of borrowing goes down by more then £4m so i really dont see how £10m has been paid off.

I urge you to not think we all think he has been amazing by any stretch. I think he still has something to offer, but his form has been disappointing. I feel sometimes his technique becomes looser for the sake of making the "big save" which can set up horrid rebounds.

Interesting on his technique. I think you're right.

Makes him look weird. Not in a bad way but just stands out. So when mistakes do happen they really stand out.

Hmm. I think he still is good enough for our club and where the team is at right now. There is however room for improvement and if the team is to progress, then GK is an area either Howard can get better OR EFC can get a new shiny GK.

At this point in his career he is at the cusp of being great and being average each week and that inconsistency is the reason i think there are so many flames each week.

Sidenote: I think the "american sticking up for the American" is only perpetuated because certain posters always point out Howard is american...then they proceed to point out which nationality of posted responses they get.
