ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I've found that they love all that though. Love playing the victim. That's why there's a new "spitting on the Hillsborough memorial" lie every time we take points off them. Being nice to them's what really grinds their gears.

okay, they've spent their money wisely and i wish we had all their new signings (y)

......or 'Everton 86ing'. Not sure how many points we were clear of the reds after winning the Anfield Derby but I suspect it was more than 12 around that time of year.
After the derby we won 7, drew 3 and lost 2. That makes 24 points from 12. Hardly a collapse. Including the derby we won the 5 games before these 12. That makes won 12, drew 3 and lost 2 meaning 39 points from 17 games.

The problem was that the RS had a worldie and, if memory serves, got 38 points out of the last 14 games.

LFC is in a real pickle right now.

I think everyone knew how much they depended on Suarez last season (who wouldn't?) but wow have they fallen off. There should be some genuine concern across the park. Lallana will turn out well and Lambert was minimal in terms of outlay but Lovern, Balotelli, etc... have really underperformed.

I just don't think the January transfer window is going to help them much.

I also dont think January will help them. Brenda blew so much coin and didnt do anything to address the problems from last season and the new one he had for this season after losing chewy. To sort that mess out is going to take the sort of money he has already wasted but he really isnt the man to spend it.
What worries me is the way they are going it might be taken out of his hands anyway, we need him to stay where he is.

To be fair, Eggs, we didn't do much wrong that year.......they had matches in hand at that stage and they went on incredible run, winning sommat like ten games in a row.

And we always looked like winning it up to the infamous Lineker's boots game at Oxford.

We never collapsed the way the Barcodes did a decade later.

yep, they picked on our numbers in russia, but have ignored the mass that travelled to the other two, or the few have said "what do you expect, it's only france" etc. ignoring the fact these are midweek games. they'd kill for fans like ours, instead of the embarassing, murder, whoppers they have that make up the majority.
they've killed for less

Mignolet's turn under the bus..

Brendan Rodgers demands immediate improvement from Simon Mignolet

This made me chuckle:

"There are times when you are doing well and can put all of your technical players in the team but when the confidence is low it is important that your team is made up of those guys who are going to work and press"

So.. loads of my best players can't be arsed unless we're doing well.. nice one Brenda, you motivational genius.

An amazing piece with so much to discuss but one thing that stopped me dead in my tracks for 5 minutes as I tried to figure out who was the number one British manager of all time was...

"As much as I despise Alex Ferguson, there’s no question that he’s probably the second best manager in British history. His number one strength? Knowing his own weaknesses."

Still stumped
What's a GlenJo? Is it like a Scottish banjo?

That Everton game was great. They're playing with that spirit we had last year.
A lot saying success (relative) came too early from Brendan.
Martinez perhaps having the anonymity right now
Bluenoses a good punt for that UEFA cup

The next season the opposite happened. The RS had a 6/7 point lead and we overhauled them. Our run wasn't so dramatic so I guess that they messed up. Didn't it all turn when we won away to Arsenal on the same day that they lost at home to Wimbledon?

Lallana will never justify a 25m price tag imo
