we haven't won in the last 3 matches and hibbert started them all. it's also the only 3 games where we haven't scored 2 or more goals.
TBF he was ok tonight - big critic of his good job they had no direct left winger! - but as a team we seem to lack any pace in midfield - Mageedy had a good game but was isolated, and when they tired a win was on happy with a draw with a performance like that - we rode our luck on more than one occasion!

Thats Europe for you...sometimes the atmosphere, the country, the unknown quantities, can be against you as well as a tough team who were on a high...9 goals in their last 3 games. Great result in European terms...we fought all the way. A lot of steel required to win European competitions, and we are in with a shout of this one. Stones superb, McGeady excellent, Eto'o scored and did his bit defensively and lasted the 90 mins. Tony Hibbert stuck to it, spent more time in the oppoasing final third than he ever has in his career, and made one superb chase back and saving tackle...and lasted the 90 mins. We also have a few fresh players for the United game. The prophets of doom might think otherwise, but that was far from being a bad night.

Yea sometimes you gotta be pragmatic. Hell its why Benetez's sides were always a tough out in Europe.

good draw. Stones brilliant. Hibbert solid.

Barry a bit lost but he was playing on his own practically as Osman, unless he is in the final third, is just invisible. Makes all the shapes of movement and pressing but really he is doing nothing, its like Nevilles pointing tactic.

Very impressed with Lukaku. Strong and clever and that ball is sticking when it goes to him.

All about context at the moment for me. We are low on confidence, with some out of form players and trying to use the squad. All that considered this draw so far away from home is a decent result and what I expected really.

I'm usually an optimist and will keep on defending Martinez for the long term but that was an absymal peformance. Great point and I would have been happy with that before the game but some of our players are horrendous at the moment.

I wish everyone would lay off McGeady and Hibbert. Both of them did well tonight but get slated. Osman was dire but for me Martinez needs to see that and make the changes. I've not been happy with Martinez the last couple of games if i'm honest and if Moyes was in charge he'd be getting slaughtered for dithering and hesitation.
