Have to be happy with that...

The performance though... Awful.
About right that good result but like you say awful performance.
We are too slow going foreward and easy to play against.
I am worried about the bad passing and mistakes because they keep happening.
Martinez needs to get going again

To be fair, it perhaps wasn't that surprising that we lacked a bit of fluidity up top. We started the game without Lukaku, Barkley, Naismith, Mirallas, Coleman and Pienaar. That's a lot of attacking talent, most of which would be in our first choice XI.

Get a point with a weakened team. Bit more game time for the likes of Gibson and Atsu. Hopefully have a decent recovery before Sunday and go at United all guns blazing.

I'm talking about this season..... we had injuries last season. We look a shadow of what we were last term.

our experienced players have been an utter embarassment tbh.

every single game we've played, howard or jagielka or distin or barry or osman have been the ones at fault for terrible individual errors that have cost us dear. jagielka and howard in particular have been woeful imo.

Their work pressing cost them in the end and ultimately we looked most likely to win it but we where very average.

Solid enough in defense apart from Jags' mistake but nothing going forward.

Although Russia is a hard place to go so I think that's a good point.

Lucky to get a point. Why can't Jags just do the simple thing and clear the ball away? And Gibbo has been crap today.

Think jags is clearly following instructions. He's spent his whole career just clearing it. It's the Bobby way for better or worse!

Can't expect too much from Gibbo yet.

Lucky point, good point actually.

Sometimes you just have to grind when you're not playing well. Shocking performances here and at Anfield but didnt lose either. That keeps you alive so when the big guns Mirallas Barkley Pienaar Coleman McCarthy (only half a team) return we can start flying.

Good result, poor performance (2 games running).
I am still trying ti fathom how Atsu earns more in a week than I do in a year. Awful in every game I have seen him.

Aye, he looks a poor substitute for Del. Only one change made too, which was an interesting move by Martinez. It has to be said, one of the few positives apart from the result and John Stones was the energy levels going into the final phase of the match.

truly awful performance a lot of that game comes up trumps with probably an undeserved point, then we were not to far from winning it

Thats Europe for you...sometimes the atmosphere, the country, the unknown quantities, can be against you as well as a tough team who were on a high...9 goals in their last 3 games. Great result in European terms...we fought all the way. A lot of steel required to win European competitions, and we are in with a shout of this one. Stones superb, McGeady excellent, Eto'o scored and did his bit defensively and lasted the 90 mins. Tony Hibbert stuck to it, spent more time in the oppoasing final third than he ever has in his career, and made one superb chase back and saving tackle...and lasted the 90 mins. We also have a few fresh players for the United game. The prophets of doom might think otherwise, but that was far from being a bad night.
