ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Far from not being ready for the daunting Liverpool job, Brendan Rodgers has been preparing a blueprint for success at the highest level for the past 15 years.

Literally

The Irishman has set down his philosophy in a dossier he presented to Reds owner John W Henry soon after being appointed to the Anfield hot seat.

And as if to emphasise just how meticulous the new manager is in his approach to the game, that document had swelled to a mind-blowing 180 pages as he outlined his thoughts on how to return the club to the summit of the English game

“I started over 15 years ago, and it’s something I’ve been piecing together for many years since,” he said.
“Then, when I became a manager, I put it into a format with a philosophy and methodology. I’ve added to it throughout and when I came to Liverpool, I presented it to the owners.

“It’s a document on the culture, philosophy and game plan going forward. It’s a model, a short cut to how I work, the kind of players I want tactically and the personality traits of players.”

They look so poor in there first 6 games its startling to think the same side bar one player finished second last season, Beaten by Villa,City and West Ham already and drew with an understrength out of form Everton side

Massive month for them coming up as there PL fixtures are "Easy" games (Hull,Qpr,Swansea and West Brom)

ive just been arguing with this Steve Evans character on facebook, the one who is accusing us of spitting on the memorial, what a disgrace he is, not a shred of evidence to back up his accusations

Good on you. Be good to turn the tables on him should he have to back up legally what hes described, if Everton get a grip of it. He should know Hillsborough slurs are a taboo and Kenwright puts great effort into our support. Weird isn't it how in their eyes, to use a good Scouse expression, were either "all sugar or all sh*te".

I'm about to vent. About the comparisons between Rodgers and Shankly.

Shankly was a gifted manager who dragged L'pool out of the sewer and won a few trophies.

But there'll be others on here who will remember him as I do: a crap stirring little tosser who'd have caused trouble in an empty room. There was nothing about the man, including his style of footy, I liked. His teams were mechanical, strong arm yard dogs and he singlehandedly started the sentimental claptrap of Der Kop Experience. Though why he needed 27,000 inbreds to back him up, God knows. He had enough gob to outdo the lot of them.

Among his witty one liners was the one about footy being more important than life and death. Strangely, they haven't quoted this on the memorial to the 96.

His contempt for the working man is well enough documented in his remarks about the dockers.

I M O, successful, yes. Also an arrogant bottom opening.

Is absolutely right - he created the "god complex" that they still believe today despite his years when he wandered over to us.
"I wouldn't open my curtains if Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden! "

as the song goes " Oh we hate Bill Shankly ..etc " He was a false Labour supporter
