:D

For anybody that doesnt know the back story, the Kitman said that if anybody ever tried to wear red boots he would colour them in with black marker.

Might be nothing in it like, but on Footy Manager he has an £8.5m minimum release clause in his Chelsea contract. Good news for us if true and he turns out to be a star, might also be why we heard nothing about an agreed fee.

Certainly not getting at you here mate, but I have always been skeptical when using Footy Manager/Fifa/Games as references. After all, who in the right mind is going to divulge their salary/contract details to the world in such a way.

So now the dust has settled, we've had some kip and hopefully some blues have regained some sanity and perspective - how do we think he did?

One thing I noticed is that he does like to get involved in the passing as we build attacks. I saw him come inside to centre mid a number of times to trade passes with McCarthy and Barry. Impressive just because it shows he understands that the full back is going to be mind boggled at whether he should be following him or not, plus when Coleman plays it should give him some extra space.

Other things to note that I saw: he's absolutely lightening fast, he's got extremely quick feet...but these should be tempered with the signs that his decision making, understandably for a youngster, needs improvement - he should have squared to Eto when he blitzed puncheon and rounded the keeper (sort of) and I remember a time or two he gave the ball away in the middle of the park when he should've drove at palace on the break.

I think the signs are good blues, hopefully we will see him get more minutes v Swansea.

What do others think?

This, pretty much. Some very good signs, but showed his age occasionally.

The first half he was stuck out on the wing too close to the touchline, when he came off the line he was a lot better. Thought he was rellay nervous though as it effected his control at times. I think if he plays tonight there will be less nerves and he can show us what he can do.

From the flashes i seen of atsu on sunday he looked like the player Deufleu should have been for us. Not the finished article by any means but direct and dangerous and someone who gives us an option.

i will be made up when he signs his permanent deal in the summer.
