Howard Webb.

On 72 minutes 10 seconds (our game today, Sunday), Milner tackled Pienaar -- David Moyes was riled, and this (I'm 99.9% convinced I'm correct) is what he shouted at referee Howard Webb:-

"Howard! Howard! I hope he (Martin O'Neill) never talked to you by the way. I hope he (MO'N) didn't hastle you -- at half time -- you did (meaning Moyes was telling Webb he did) -- yes, yes, yer' did, at half time."

Disgrace to football.

Never seen a ref buckle under the home support pressure since ****bag Poll.

He was looking for anything today and waiting for Young to throw himself on the floor.

He wants to be the centre of attention. No ******* wonder he was a policeman before it, the massive ****ouse.

Id put him up there close to that ****house clattenburg

Funny you mentioned that... I've never seen anything like that. Sure I've seen the manager telling the ref to take it up the arse, but such a long talk while the game was getting on, it's a first to me.

I couldn't understand nothing at all, but i think he said tackle instead of talked... but then again, my ears are not trained to that scottish accent of Moyes.

I've only seen the highlights, but on the big decisions I don't have too many complaints :

- Lescott's was definitely a foul, and a penalty was the right decision

- Ashley Young didn't win any penalties

- Jo did get pushed but he wouldn't have got the ball anyway. Many refs are reluctant to give pens in those situations

But that's the thing IMO - Lescott kicked the ball then went to clear, Petrov went into challange. Now its a 50/50 ball that no player is under control of. One player used his foot, the other his head. Yes, outside the area its a free kick but in the penalty box is a completely different set of rules - the reff knows this (its shouldnt but it really is).

Reason? If that was a penalty why didnt Webb disallow Cahill's goal with all the pushing a shoving, Jags blocking off Freidel (again, a free kick outside the box if given), or give more penalties to either side for the corner or free kick melee's that happen? Or send Fellaini off for elbowing everyone is sight?

Petrov didnt have the ball, in fairness it was Lescott's to kick. You could say Petrov was doing the Gerrard thing of throwing himself into a player who has the ball and gets a foul.

I wouldnt have been arsed if Young got the peno if he duped the reff because he was causing Hibbo problems (its the outside the box stuff people forget about that made Young look stupid). But to give a peno for a high boot when Lescott wasnt even going into the challange is beyond me, I've never seen a peno given for something like that.

I dont even think the Villa players were kicking off either - they wouldnt complain if Webb just stopped the game, Petrov got seen to and we booted the ball back to Friedel.

Didnt any Villa players get booked?

Webb ballsed up. He even did it in the Barca game when Messi was chopped and he booked him for diving!

As for Jo's peno shout....if Villa's was a peno than ours was too. Simple as that IMO because both are as dubious as the other. A reff stays consistant in his decisions then no one will complain. When he's making big decisions then not for the smaller stuff then he's had a poor game.

Oh and apparantly - Dangerous play (which is the offence which a player is guilty of for raising his foot high) is punishable by the award of an indirect free kick.

My mate was shouting that when it happened but I guess Webb didnt read the rule book.

Mate, Im' not sure but I believe it wouldn't be a penalty if there was no contact. In dangerous play with physicall contact inside the box a penalty is to be given.

Just what I think, not sure though.
