We are only 3 games into the new season, so there will be plenty of twists and turns yet. But there is a bit of truth with regards the hype he refers to. A significant amount of people are waxing lyrical about us being top four contenders, being a ‘different proposition nowadays’, and playing like Barcelona with a style that has ‘the total respect of most intelligent people in the game’. In reality, our style of play may have changed but it isn’t breath-taking, and the end result has so far been a continuation of the mid-table finishes that were frequently achieved under Moyes reign.
However it appears that the author is a Spurs fan, so he is clearly throwing stones whilst living in a glass house, as they are overhyped to the absolute maximum, and they don’t have any chance of bothering the elite either.
