It's like comparing Lineker and Beardsley in my mind, two completely different forwards with different strengths.
Better comparison is Eto Vs say Sturridge!

BTW, putting Eto'o pomp v Rooney pomp aside; the original assertion was Rooney at 17 trumps Eto'o at 33 in an Everton shirt.
Anyone who thinks the former wouldn't have slotted in and pulled this present Everton team to heights greater than what Eto'o is presently capable of achieving for us needs sectioning.

Oh yeah, it's all good in that respect. C- window to a B window now, IMO.Most important thing mate is that he's here, its another signing and one that should be able to contribute on the pitch and off. Regardless who is better than who ( and tbh my love for Rooney died a long long time ago ) its another positive step and closer to the 6-7 players Martinez said he required to flesh out the squad. Eto'o wasnt top of my list but its great to see so many fans buzzing about it and in turn thats made me a lot more positive about what he can bring to the club.
Reckon he's got a bigger wang than Distin, Dave?

Eh??LOL, are you just doing a parody of yourself now?

This I totally disagree with.Rooney in his pomp was a much better all round player than Eto'o was in his. Eto'o is primarily a slotter. That's it.
Thats different but still a tough call as we haven't seen Eto'o in EFC blue. But yeah, the young Rooney playing for us with all our top players now, with Martinez managing him, Barkley being his bezzie and Baines putting it on a sixpence for him every game. Yeah he would have thrived at his beloved Everton and we would have won everything in football. But to be honest if Eto'o can just be a shade less incredible than that, then we'll have done brilliantly here.BTW, putting Eto'o pomp v Rooney pomp aside; the original assertion was Rooney at 17 trumps Eto'o at 33 in an Everton shirt.
Who cars though mate, he's signing on to be our second choice striker in case lukaku goes down. People are just pointing out he's had a pretty illustrious career is all. More illustrious than Rooney arguably.BTW, putting Eto'o pomp v Rooney pomp aside; the original assertion was Rooney at 17 trumps Eto'o at 33 in an Everton shirt.

I can settle on that!My last post on this cos it's all hypothetical and a bit pointless.

Why would we play with one midfielder when that's arguably the strongest part of our squad------------------Howard----------------------
