The fawning over 'world class Eto'o choosing to play for us'.

We are Everton. Let's not forget it. We've all seen better in a blue shirt than Eto'o anyway.

This is right actually. Although it's great that we can attract players like Rom and Eto'o we should remember that we have had lots of wonderful players in our history, all of which would have run through walls for their shirt.

They are good signings, but should still be honoured to play for such a brilliant football club.

You can take whatever view you want on Eto'o but my thoughts are only positive on this. We've got a top class forward in his thirties for free, his CV littered with success. Liverpool paid millions for a mediocre forward in his thirties whose CV Is splattered with beetroot juice!!

Personally I thought he was great for Chelsea last season. He's one of the most accomplished strikers around, an absolute legend.

He's getting older it's true but even as an impact sub he can wreck teams. But I think he will get to sufficient fitness levels.

Keep in mind all kinds of great strikers have had hard time scoring in a Chelsea team and he did fine. Something tells me he will do great here.

Eto'o has achieved more than Rooney will dream of doing.
I dont see how. He's won the same CL's as Rooney. Rooney has won titles with United; Eto'o with Inter and Barcelona.

Rooney in his pomp was a much better all round player than Eto'o was in his. Eto'o is primarily a slotter. That's it.

So lets get this right, he was a non-stop success train up until leaving Inter Milan for Russia and the most lucrative contract in the game. 6 months in and the Russian club's chairman decides to get his money back & sell all the clubs assets. Chel$ea pick him up, give him a decent amount of rest ready for him to get back to his best with us.

Turned out nice again.
