Hard to tell what sort of condition Samu currently is in as I saw little of him in the past year or so but his reputation obviously precedes him...I'm sure he doesn't have the pace he used to but excellent goalscorer that will also deliver some key assists...Ironic that he comes to Everton when it was his arrival to Chelsea that saw Lukaku shipped out

I think it's a great signing but the concerns about his wages are spot on as he's gone a bit mercenary after winning all the titles he has...Eto'O certainly is entitled to get the best deal possible...A good teammate in general although like most strikers has an ego that is peculiar, needs to play with a chip on his shoulder...Strong enough personality however that if things aren't going his way, will not back down

But he is a free transfer.. Its just the same as spending 6 million on a player and giving him 40k a week over two years.. Im sure theres no decent strikers out there for 6 mil either..

Lets face it, he's got to be better than Traore hasn't he?

On a more pertinent note, do we know how fit he is? I'm guessing in these first weeks he'll be able to chip in with a few minutes off of the bench rather than starting games whilst he gets up to full fitness?

One of my favourite players, just a pity it´s not a bit earlier in his career! He was a legend at Barça. I loved how he hated Madrid and took it personally they never gave him a chance, he got revenge plenty of times.

When was the last time we had a past, or current, unarguably best player in the world in their position? Southall I´d say. And Eto´o was for me easily the best striker in the world for a good three seasons at one point.

I can't remember us ever having had a striker of his calibre. Closest would have to be Lineker.

Never in my wildest dreams. Bloody 'ell Everton, you do surprise us.

Ofcourse he's better than Traore.

Long time lurker here with my first post:

At Chelsea he seemed to have the knack of opening up a few defences with a clever bit of movement or an intelligent flick insead of the raw pace he used to have in abundance. I think he'll be useful when we're trying to break down teams who are parking the proverbial bus. Also he'll be super boss on FIFA.

Cheese on Toast.

Hi @Encoder

Imagine the atmosphere in the team knowing we are getting Samuel Eto'o!!

SAMUEL ETO'O!!!

Really?

I don't remember him tearing up the league last year. Maybe he did but it was lost on me.

I'm delighted to have him in but would have preferred a move for someone like Danny Welbeck if I'm honest.

It's Samuel Eto'o mate.

An all time great. One of the best goalscorers of a generation. Over 300 career goals.

Players like this don't come to Everton.

IT'S AMAZING
