Right, I'm off out curb crawling, find myself a nice girlfriend for hire. Enjoy the rest of your days American and Antipodean brothers.
Oh dear. I just realized you guys have Chelsea next haha good luck with that. We wouldn't stand a chance either. The fact that we're playing against the team with the strongest heading squad next week makes me cringe.

now that I've finished (mostly ffs) fuming at how we switched off and dropped those 2 today and 2 at Leicester, I can go back to being happy at how we dominated Arsenal in a game of Football, could have had a few pens, and played some wonderful stuff. We can get the win against Chelsea. They don't scare me. Welcome to Goodison, rent boys.
They're a good team, but so are we.
cue a 93rd minute equalizerHaving just arrived home after a long day and having reached the point where another swig of lager would make me projectile vomit, i can only imagine that the meltfest is in full flow here. Relax, we're all disappointed but we'll just have earn our first win of the season against those posh bunch of deformities again this season. Chelsea come on down...
After a lot of ale and reflection, this is sort of my thoughts. Its a bit worrisome that there is NO urgency whatsoever to take the impetus in the second half and go for the throat thus far. What exactly is Martinez's half time talk, the same as Moyes? They go and look to sit back to absorb the pressure in the second half and that, in no way/shape/form, works for this team. They become unglued. At first it was frucking infuriating.
Though rationally we were lucky to take a point the way we totally switched off in the second half yet again. I mean ffs Everton. A game is 90+ minutes, not 45![]()
The thing that worries me is not that we're letting in goals (that's going to happen to every team) but how easy the goals are. We had 4 people in the box against 1 Arsenal player and we let them score. Then Distin gets out muscled and lets the second in. If both goals were amazing well worked or great shot goals then I'd be ok but with them given so easily it worries me that we're going to do this every game.
Lukaku's run for the second goal was boss. As boss as anything I've seen an Everton striker do for beards.
In a thread a week or so ago I was pilloried for saying that, despite having conceded fewer goals than all but two teams last season, we were not good defensively. Essentially I was pointing out that because we have so much possession there is relatively little defending required but that whenever we do come under a period of concerted pressure we concede. The two games played so far this season only serve to back up my original post. We should be able to take our foot off the gas and still hold onto winning positions, but we're not defensively strong enough. In particular we need a Dave Watson-type CB who's going to take it as a personal insult if he's beaten to any ball played into the box. This annoyed me too! We conceeded two Stoke standard goals to Arsenal, I dont think our defence was split open from a blistering pass once, yet we conceed two school boy goals, like the way Arsenal attacked we could of played two youth players at centre back and provided they knew how to head a ball properly we would of won 2-1 atleast.

This. We need a CB leader. (and I wish Howard would command his box better). In a thread a week or so ago I was pilloried for saying that, despite having conceded fewer goals than all but two teams last season, we were not good defensively.
