Tiredness cost us the game. 2 of our best and fittest players, Coleman & McCarthy cost us the 1st goal by not bothering to close down corzola. You could tell by the body language that they were blowing out of there backsides. We will get fitter and better but that's no excuse as they all should be up to speed come the opening day of the season. We showed some good stuff out there today as we did against Leicester so I have no worries about the rest of the season but it is criminal that the players are not ready for a new season.

so why exactly do jack wilshere and mesut ozil stand around for an hour and a half and barely move then?

a heck of a lot of people think jack wilshere's terribly overated

Wilshere's development has been hampered by annoying little injuries which have led to him not being able to put up minutes on a consistent basis, only have to look at his performances when he first broke into the team to see his quality. Just a matter of time before he gets going.

Ozil came back late from the WC, has not had a proper preseason and was playing on the wing which limits his influence.

Although I know jags and distin will defend better once we get to full match fitness, like not dropping back with 20 mins to go and just standing there, I reckon we need another cb that's not over 30 that's proven in bpl to be starting, we just can't expect to challenge top sides consistently with centre backs like 35 and that, too old now.

What a ludicrous comment

If A/B/C/D Hadn't of happened we would have have been beaten, Well it did happen and we won and the same thing could happen again

Are you forgetting the other times we have beaten Chelsea or are they erased from your tiny brain, They have always had a beast of a side and at home we have always given them a game

If the game was away then I would more than likely agree that a defeat was on the cards
So Are you saying a defeat is not on the cards?

I am terribly disappointed martinez usually knows the correct move but twice in succession he has failed to see what everybody else could and lost us the 3 points. wrong subs wrong time, the arrogance and accurate passing is failing us at the end of matches and thus letting teams in. why do we need to be losing to get a stirring come back to draw or win a game like last season, the game is a lot easier when you are winning and to hold on to a lead playing the correct way, yet everton dont like it that way, it seems too easy and they shoot themselves in the foot, really annoying they need to remember they are playing for everton, infront of the best supporters in the world, we demand 90+ minutes of commitment, they are paid well enough not to give up and focus. martinez has the fear at the moment of losing these points and it flows down to the players, he maybe needs to shake it up a bit so all players have a chance of playing not the same favourites as it is slipping into that way already. if he doesnt trust others to do a job he needs to condition the first 11 better

The big positive is Naismith. I'm beginning to believe more and more.

Once our fitness is up we have shown we can compete with a team with Ramsey, Ozil and Sanchez.

Yes we have thrown away 4 points and with Chelsea next it probably won't be the greatest start but its a long season and after that game our fitness should be back.
Surely the issue is why we aren't as fit as the two sides we've played so far.

You banned from arsenal mania or something? Wtf you still doing here

So tell me who looked like a 40 mil player...Naismith or Ozil?
Agree, neither...only we didn't pay a bean for Naismith

Not doubting Wilshire is talented...I'm just stating the obvious...he's a [Poor language removed]
I reiterate, Naismith is a nothing player.

Are you basing Ozil's worth off his first game of the season where he clearly isn't match fit yet?

And this season was against a newly promoted side which will go straight back down and a team which has had most of its players at the World Cup.

Last season, for those two games, we didn't have Lukaku. We didn't have McCarthy. We didn't have Barry. We had bloody Kone and Alcaraz. This season we are so much stronger in terms of players but we bottle it because we aren't fit enough.

Oh, there is aimless throwing alright. Two wins, 4 points aimlessly thrown.

Brilliant description of Arsenal's hundred million pound +, world cup winners containing side there.

So Are you saying a defeat is not on the cards?

Of course, Poorly worded there

What I should have said was if it was away I would agree that a defeat is very likely were as at home we have a good chance of result

terrible excuse, he did the same for the whole of the second half.

wilshere broke into the first team a long time ago now, this is where people's overating comes from. he looked good at a young age at bolton, so he must be good.

he still gets picked when he's utterly useless - like i said, everything's been on a plate for him, he has no drive because he doesn't need it - he's as good as tom cleverley atm - they both have no impact on any matches.

We could do with a new signing to give the team a lift too.

It is essentially the same 11 as last season, so a new forward especially could give us a nice spark
