I'd like one. I was 4 years old when Everton last won something, young enough to be completely unaware of the club's existence across the Atlantic.

I'm feeling really good about Europa League for some strange reason. I think we can pull it off.

I'd say German and Italian.

Spanish players are hit and miss (aspas, luis alberto and many more) Like Arsenal wanting to spend 20m on Griezmann. Quality player but wouldn't be good in the prem because he is too good for the opponents so they'll just start playing rugby with him.
Prem is the 'best' league in the world because all the teams are [Poor language removed].

I'm 20 and I've never seen us win a cup, I was a baby in '95. It's very disheartening seeing all these other clubs win trophies every year and celebrating with their ecstatic fans, especially when it's a team you don't like. Why can't it ever be us, when will it be our turn? Winning a cup would be something I'd never forget as long as I live, something I'd forever cherish and could never be taken away.

At the end of the day, all we're ever left with is our memories so we need to try and create as many good ones as possible.

You know the answer to that one mate. If it took another 20 years we will all be here hanging in there waiting for that moment. Its important to win silverware for the history of the club and the legacy it leaves for the next generation, but our support has proved that lack of trophies has not wavered or diminished our support and desire for success.

On the one hand it's not that important: I don't feel like we're entitled to win things every year at Everton and feel like the joy, pain and togetherness of your typical season is what it's all about and more than enough.
On the other hand it's been 20 years, the second longest period in our history, and it's starting to take the piss a bit.
I'm not surprised Kenwright hasn't sold the club yet when the second longest barren spell in club history would be his legacy. Who would want that?

So basically normally it's not too important but I feel like the next couple of seasons we're at a key point in our history and I'm desperate for a trophy. Firstly to bring the duck to an end, and secondly because I think at the highest level the difference between winning and going close can come down to mentality and I want our young talents (and our fans) to gain that winning psychology as soon as possible for their long term benefit.
And then lastly because the likes of Jagielka, Howard, Baines, Osman and especially Distin have been great servants of the club over the last few years and deserve a winners medal for their efforts while there's still time.

As I've just stated in the fixture thread, this season is our hardest for a while and a big test for Roberto and Graeme. His first season with a higher demand and a congested fixture list. We need additions and its now time for the youth to step up. Silverware is important yes but it will not be easy. A good cup run and a strong finish in the league will take some excellent results, a large squad and a bit of luck along the way, something we don't get as it is.

Once we know who is in our group we can manage the team better but like always the league is our priority. It always has to be.

Its been so long i'm not sure how i would celebrate if we did win a pot. The word celebrate rarely pops up in our Evertonian vocab these days does it. How important is it to me ? I'd give my right nut for even a league cup win right now.

Seriously though. How the F did we go from being one of the richest sides around in the late 80's to a no mark within 5 years ?

It was a double whammy.

Heysel robbed us of our chance to make a real name in Europe.

And Peter Johnson left us standing on the platform as the PL/Sky gravy train pulled out the station.

On the plus side we kept on keeping on and here we are, not an arse in our trousers but able to get in among the monied elite and give them a bloody nose on a regular basis.

We're on the way up and I think that much longed for silverware is just around the corner.

The Europa League title would be just the ticket to take us back into the big time.

At long last they have turned it into a trophy which is more important than finishing 4th.

.....I'm old enough to have seen us win everything from '63, but in the dark days of Wimbledon and Coventry I wished for mid-table mediocracy as long as we stayed up. We are clearly better than that now and have progressed. I think we are due and would love it to happen, especially for my own kids and the youngsters on here who deserve it so much.

Nothing more important. The reason we're not Bootle, Southport or Tranmere is because we won stuff in the past. The point being it isn't just our present enjoyment it's the growth of the legend that draws in the next generation something we should all be mindful of.

The Prem and the power of TV means this is the first english top division where fans choose their club not by location. Once you stop winning stuff (or at the very least trying and coming close) you're dead in the water.

I've always thought the Capital One cup is very winnable, but every year we seem to treat it as a training match and get knocked out. Can see the same happening this year to reduce fixture load. Very sad, but my opinion
