The one that sticks in my mind? Losing to United in the 85 cup final, even after travelling back from Rotterdam, i thought the treble was in the bag and our chance to truly go down in history.

I was at the Oxford game (1986)...a major downer that. Partied maximally in Rotterdam and was at Wembley a few days later. Pity we failed in the treble but.... Next season's runner up status to RS in League AND Cup was (like I said), a MAJOR downer

You can see how tired Everton were that day. It was a gruelling season and the game was only a few days later. Nowadays there'd be a week break or something

I've been going away with Everton since 1975 and nothing re our away following has changed. I remember going down to Ipswich on the Blue Streak taking 3 trains in 1978, amazing support
