Awesome, lid.

Your general post-Brazil US Soccer discussion thread. What? Need to talk about SOMETHING while we wait for the next Everton season to get underway.
Gold Cup is next year. So uh, that's a thing. Even if it's a silly competition, think we should all expect a trophy.
The 100th anniversary of the Copa America will be a 16 nation tournament hosted on US soil, with all 10 South American nations and 6 CONCACAF guests (US, Mexico, and 4 others to be decided by Gold Cup and regional tournaments.) That should be ace, another major competition to wet the appetite before 2018.
Aron Johnannson needs ankle surgery and will be out for the start of Eredivisie season. Unclear when he actually picked it up, or if it's a lingering problem. http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2014/7/4/5871333/aron-johannsson-injury-ankle-usmnt-az-alkmaar
There are Julian Green to Tottenham rumors floating around. I for one hope that doesn't happen, but maybe it'll mean more top flight playing time for him sooner?
Juan Agudelo has been released by Stoke after he failed to get a work visa. Unclear where he will land yet. All I can say is thank you, Your Majesty. Last thing we needed is another Brek Shea situation.
CITIZENSHIP WATCH!
1. Portland's ace Darlington Nagbe on track to become a red-blooded American next year. He's never played for his home nation of Liberia. Boss, 23 year old attacking midfielder
2. Arsenal top prospect Gedion Zelalem is rumored to soon have US eligibility through his dad getting naturalized. He's played for some of Germany's youth teams, but pulled out of the recent UEFA U-17 tourney to keep his eligibility open.
3. NE Rev's wonderchild Diego Fagundez still interested in playing for the US. He's lived here most of his live, but is not a citizen. It might take a while to resolve yet, but he's keeping his eligibility open. Uruguay have called him to the U-20 team twice, but otherwise don't appear interested.
