It would be much more meaningful if it was done once every 4 years. The one a year after the WC is the one that matters. The 2nd one countries just send their B sides too.

Rumor has it that CONCACAF had to bribe Mexico to send their senior team to the Gold Cup and their U-23 team to Copa America 2015 by allowing Mexican clubs to participate in Copa Libertadores.

Are they getting a soccer-specific stadium? Seems like that would be a good investment, great for International matches as well as United.

Working on it. Think there's an anti-public support for stadium attitude on the DC City Council, but I also believe United are willing to pony up a lot of their own cash.

Which is good to see. 0.1% of everything I buy still goes towards paying off Miller Park debt FFS.

As impressive as NBC's studio coverage has been, NBC's web/twitter presence has been incompetent in equal measure. GOT produces better original news, and even the animal humping links are more credible than most of what NBC reproduces.

So I'm quite hopeful Yedlin doesn't trial there, although worse things have come true. They're reporting this as "Metro gossip" and don't even have a link to the source (here's the link).

I do think you'll see Yedlin and Besler (maybe more) go out on January loans between the MLS seasons and get a taste of Euro or PL action ahead of a possible summer 15 move.

I think it's pretty safe to say Yedlin will move. The Sounders have 3 DP's already.

Yup. The Lerners (Nats owners) definitely muddied the waters for future stadium projects (e.g. Stiffing the city on rent)

I'm not familiar with that situation--is the disagreement ongoing or in the past? Payment is usually according to documents and agreements of the transaction--get the docs right and the money should follow.

It's been settled. They were claiming the stadium wasn't finished during the Nats first season and refused to pay rent. They are pretty ruthless in commercial real estate and land development

I live just outside of DC and can confirm RFK is a dump. However it does have some things going for it. It's pretty easy to get to both by car and Metro. FedEx Field on the other hand is a nightmare to get to.

Well FedEx is in the middle of nowhere. Good transit to Verizon and Nats Ballpark though? Really, tearing down RFK and rebuilding at that site may be best. That's not in the plans though, is it?

*Google tells me plans are for a stadium at Buzzard Point. That sounds like a nice development.

Verizon is great. Revitalized the Chinatown/ Penn Quarter area. Nats are accessible via Metro too. As for RFK,it's complicated I believe the Skins have the first right to build there. Yup, Buzzard Point- kind of infamous for late-night trysts over the years

Seems like nice plans, and looks close to Metro stops

*sorry for going off-topic @Garrick

Back on topic, Rog and Davo discussed the USMNT record of 1.88 p/g compared to what the better teams achieve (closer to 2.1); this seems to be a reasonable goal. Improve the competition of course, but take care of the competition you're facing already. Getting out of Group G was a good result, it seems, but we can't be satisfied with such.

Was I off topic? Sorry mate!
