Tim Howard

FFS my twitter is legit spazzing with Tim Howard stuff. Easily 50 tweets a minute and about one or two has something about everton like if we're lucky.
*Goes onto twittersphere to shamelessly laud Tim Howard and Everton to the Americans

Club should still be pushing this connection rather than expecting people to make it themselves. Hopefully they'll use this as a springboard, but ideally they'd be on top of it right now - in a few days most of America will forget about this, so it's important to create the Howard/Everton connection in its mind now.

Agree! I know there is no money for this, but I would go as far as to buy some airtime on ESPN or ABC and run a commercial using Howard and his connection to Everton. Maybe the whole new fabric tag. Maybe someone at Umbro will think about it. But it has to be now!

Agree about the pish poor marketing, club as ever completely asleep. I saw a tweet earlier from them advertising Tim in the new Umbro goalie kit, I'm sure all the U.S. fans saw it and are rushing to the Everton website where they can get their generic Umbro Tim Howard goalie kit in about a month's time by which time they'll have forgotten who Everton even are

If that sort of thing was to happen Nike would've been the perfect people to do it - they even sponsor Tim in a personal capacity. Umbro are a small time kit maker from Manchester, they don't have the money or reputation to go advertising on American telly

Im going to stick to my guns here - hes been great over the last season - but i dont rate him - never have.

If he can keep up this form ill consider it, still think he has at fault for Lukaku's goal last night,

One suggestion I heard from some Everton US groups is to have an a "Tim Howard: American Hero" watch party for the first game of the upcoming campaign. At this point it seems grassroots marketing will lead the charge.

Holy christ. Are you a Nike employee? Did Umbro burn your house down?

What is the deal with the Umbro hate?

Clearly then we need a goalkeeper who never makes a mistake. I'll let you know when I find one. Think they're kept in the same place as the winged pigs and the rocking horse sh*te.

Yep, the club should be bashing the T-How button as much as possible right now. I just dont get the feeling the club understand the importance of getting fans on board. There won't be an immediate return for them so won't put any money in. Ignoring the bigger picture again and leaving any growth of the the brand to on field success of the team.

I'm assuming Howard has a twitter account? Has he tweeted the everton account to really hammer home the link?

I've been thinking it for a while and in my opinion, Howard is world class. He is a world class keeper on every level. The last 18 months/2 years he has added consistency to his all round game.

There isn't a keeper that i can think of that has better shot stopping. I would pick Howard every time. So for me, Howard is now in the world class category and rightly deserves the praise he has been receiving of late.
