Suarez's Punishment

He cant even go the training ground.

Excellent stuff! Haha....

He'll be sold in the summer anyway, wanted away and will be a good get out clause for Liverpool to not look like a selling club.

Probably cost them 10M in the fee they will get now compared to before.

For those saying it's lenient.. it really isn't. Yes it's his third offence when he is caught biting someone on the pitch, so a more powerful ban than the previous one was to be expected. When I first Heard the 4 month ban, I also thought it was a bit short but then I did the calculation and what's really incorporated in the sentence.

9 international matches (not friendlies) would mean the rest of this Championship and Copa America qualificationmatches. Imagine Portugal without Ronaldo or Sweden without Zlatan in a whole qualificationround...

4 months banned from football... that's the whole preseason thrown out the window. The first 9-10 League games, 3 of those against teams predicted to fight for the European slots in the League. Half the groupstage in the Champions League and the first League Cup game.

If I understand the ban correctly he is also banned from training with the team, which would make him train alone. It would perhaps make him in perfect condition when he returns, but he won't be in synchronisation with the rest of the team when he returns. Any new strategies, variations on freekicks and corners, bonding with new teammates and just practising football with his collegues is gone. He will also severly lack matchfitness when he returns. No matter how much you practise on your own, you need matches to reach that top level of your game.

All in all, I Think FIFA actually gave him a very strong punishment. Good for them to finally stand firm, but now they have set a high standard for themselves. What will happen if someone else in an international game spit on someone, hit someone on purpose when the ball is somewhere else.... Uruguay and Suarez can be on them and demand that FIFA ban others for doing things that doesn't belong in a football match. And FIFA might be forced to ban others so it won't look like they had a grudge against Suarez.

My only problem with the ban is that after the WC, there's about a month when there are no games, just preseason training for the upcoming PL campaign. I would have preferred to see the four months applied only to when games are scheduled. Let him have his preseason training with the KKKult, but ban him for playing well into November.

Who would buy him when he can't go near the new club for 4 months?

People keep saying this...But I just don't see anyone wanting him...Really don't think Barca and Real Madrid want someone that sadistic...I mean if he does it again on their books....Major Ban...Major bad publicity...and Repercussions throughout the whole team and club....Is he really worth it?...so many class players without that baggage...

Look on the bright side though Louis old chum, this will at least give your knee a good old rest. Don't lose hope, sweetcheeks.

I wouldn't buy him, he will blow up again, he proven he cant control himself, and the next bite or racist remark will earn him a 12 month ban. He not worse the hassle. Barca and RM will leave him at Liverpool

If I was FSG or whatever they are called, I would sell him now. Or sack him.

He is toxic, and when football seems to be taking hold in the US, that would reflect well on their "brand".

But they wont.

Finished one WC revelling in cheating a team out of a place in the Semi-Finals, finished his second WC by biting an opponent and getting a four month worldwide football ban.

He'll be known about across the world for generations to come - as a scumbag.

It would be ace if he wasn't allowed to watch matches on the telly as well. FIFA sends agents round when the matches are on and make sure he's behaving himself. lol
